When I was researching if the Xt has the same FB engine as the 2.0xs (baka makatipid sa timing belt) , some of the results that comes up is that old forester XT ( 2000 model and older ) engines stalls during heavy rain. Just making research before getting an XT or Legacy GT. This forum is a BIG HELP. thanks !

The XT uses the EJ25 engine (shared with the Legacy GT).

The 2.0 XS (2011 onwards) uses the FB20 (shared with the XV and new Impreza) while the older 2.0X used the EJ20 (shared with the old Impreza).

    they fixed that issue already.

don't now if it's an issue but on 08-current 2.0 foresters when owners use petron blaze there's a hard idle from cold start.

Guys, i would just like to ask on how to remove the back seat cover sa forester 2011 model? It seems that nakaipit talaga yung seat cover sa ilalim ng seat. Any ideas?

You need to disassemble the entire rear seat. Best to have to leave that to the Casa.

Hi! Any update on whether a new Forester will be coming out soon, like next year or in 2014? This is one of the cars on my "shortlist" and I'd be interested to know if a revamped model is coming. Thanks.

You need to bring your own oil bec. their oil is really expensive (Castrol, Motul) and unsuitable spec (5W-20-with our weather ?!??)

Also watch out for items they silently insert like oil flushing.

Guys, looking forward in getting the legacy wagon, pero motorimage is only selling 2011 units with 180,000 discount, kasi they are coming out of the 2013 model.

Is the 2011 worth it? Or wait for 2013 model with the FB engine and hopefully the eyesight feature as standart? I think wala ng turbo model for the 2013 models. Thanks

yes, it is the best time to get the lgt wagon with all the discounts they're giving. i think for 2013 there won't be a wagon for the lgt anymore.

Looks like it'll be in 2014, at least according to Car & Driver's website: 2014 Subaru Forester Spy Photos – News – Car and Driver

I'm guessing that the front will take on the family look that's now common with the Legacy and Impreza. Fearless forecast: by mid-2013 or earlier, the disguise will come off and more leaked photos will flood the net.

MI is offering good discounts on the Forester (50K or higher). Maybe the new Forester isn't that too far along?

They facelifted it with very subtle exterior changes, relaid out the dash, improved the HU but downgraded the sound system, intro'd it in 2012 and called it "all-new," even referring to it as the 2013 model. In reality this 3rd gen iteration has been around since 2008. Probably not selling very well anymore in major markets abroad considering how its competitors have been rolling out newer versions decked out with more bells and whistles than the current Fozzie. Maybe that's why a real "all-new" model is in the works.

^to be fair, they did the change the engine to the latest Subaru engine..at least for the 2.0 variant.

Happy to get my new "soon-to-be-old-model" Subaru Forester 2.0XS

First impressions - I love driving it! I like the optitron gauges, the huge moonroof, the overall feel. I'm glad that it's got a hand brake rather than a foot brake.

Only con - the sound system is no good
