thanks Vinj!

Aside from the standard freebies, ano pa ba pwede kong hingin na freebies? Binigay lng sa akin ksi Free LTO Reg and side visor aside from the standard na matting, 3m tint, seatcover, ewd, rust proof and rain gutter(ano kaya to?).

    bro,

yung rain gutter is yung side visor..pwede ka pa kumuha ng roof rail and leather seat cover..plus 5k gas card..request mo rin na full tank yung innova pag kunuha mo..good luck pre..

for the undercoating, ive checked it and it's all black, however the support for the muffler has no undercoating, it has actually signs of rusting, should this also be undercoated too? and also the muffler?

for the battery, my dealer told me it was maintenance free but it has opening caps, should i really need to demand a maintenance free battery?

for the foglamps, they will be installed during my 1K pms, dealer alibied that foglamps are still being order, (BuwiSet!)

central locks are OK, just the remote, the alarm button and alarm off button does not function, hehe, you'll use the unlock button to turn off the alarm..

despite the flaws, i still love my new innova, just noticed that it's slow on acceleration (because of VVTi maybe), and the shift lever is quite hard especially on reverse and 5th gear,

i will be noting these issues, hope none more would come, for my 1k pms

    thanks fellow tsikoteers

    any inputs would be appreciated
    Congrats!

Hindi puedeng malagyan ng undercoating ang muffler or any part of the exhaust system, masusunog iyon at mangagamoy. You can use high heat paint that are available in hardware stores.

Mabuti na lang at hindi mo pa nakuha ang foglamp mo. Make sure that what you are getting are the original Toyota foglamps as there are replacements with inferior quality (madaling pasukin ng moisture or tubig).

    thank you sir,

any recommendations for the rust showing on the muffler and the support?

for the meantime, i just put singer oil on the rusty portions, hehe

the foglamps are to be installed (daw) on my 1k pms, prior to that i'll make sure they're the original toyota foglamps. how can this be checked? by the way, are the wheel well covers not enough to give adequate protection for the fog lamps?

If you are talking about the rusty muffler pipes and catalytic converter! that's normal.

If your are getting the original fog lamps you can be sure it will not get moist, mine was almost 3 years and still okay. Today's wheel well cover can be adequate to protect the fog lamps from water splashes from the wheels, the problem of fog lamps getting moist was from the previous model of Innova where there were no wheel well covers.

As I wrote, you can use high heat paints (choose the 1000 deg F) in aerosol can. Looks like the ordinary spray paints that you can buy from Ace or Handyman.

The full wheel well cover should be enough to protect against water splashes while driving in the rain but it does not mean your foglamps are completely covered. My officemate has a non-original foglamp and we have the same wheel well covers and yet, I noticed moisture had already accumulated inside the lens on his. The foglamps should come in a sealed Toyota Packaging box for you to be sure that they are originals. They will not normally open this until they had turned it over to you to inspect prior to installation.

Ok then, i'll look for those high temp spray paints, how they won't be heavy on the pocket..

anyway, another thing, anyone here used u-shaped lock? its about 1/2 inch thick. thinking of using it for the spare tire... can these still be cut off by normal bolt cutters?

and upon starting, just to confirm the tick tock tick sound is coming from the condenser right?

thanks to this thread i am always learning more. especially from the masters.

nearing 200km on my odo, hehe

There was no new message in my inbox, anyway you can inquire for floor mats at AutoBacs in Banawe (Near corner of Banawe and Quezon Blvd - side of MCDonalds).

You can buy the ready made or you can ask them to customize one that suits your needs and you can also choose the materials.

Mine was a DIY coiled floor mat, materials I bought from DIY shop at Robinsons.

Btw, based on pics I took in showrooms and shows, all '05-'09 Innova (J, E, G, V variants, D-4D, VVT-i, M/T, A/T) are equipped with maintenance free batteries from the assembly plant in Sta Rosa. Outlast is the brand TMPI uses.

It does have openings but not one you can easily turn as in a knob. But rather the openings on the maintenance free is flat and need to be opened using a coin (see pic).

    Re: fog lamp.

If you have a written agreement with the dealer that they will provide a genuine OEM foglamp then they must do so. In the absence of such agreement, I think the dealer wouldn't be liable for installing an "imitation" foglamp in your vehicle.

    re: rusty exhaust pipe.

This is a more common problem for VVT-i owners. For D-4D owners, the black soot from the diesel coats the exhaust pipe and acts as a rust inhibitor.

Singer oil, WD40, etc. these types of oils dry up quickly. What you need to apply is a marine grade waterproof type of oil.

Do I need to buy a separate antenna if I'll change my innova G (with printe-type antenna) default stereo/player with a DVD player, with LCD display and TV tuner?

Nagpabili kasi ako sa Hong Kong. Mga 12-15K lang. Kasama rear CAMERA as a supplement or substittute to a back sensor. Basta nag-engage yung reverse gear mo, lalabas sa LCD display yung output ng rear CAMERA.

Ngpa-install na yung kaopisina ko nito sa CRV nya, kaso sa bandang sucat pa.
Any recommended shop in makati that can do a nice installation? Yung hindi balbon at pulido gumawa. How much kaya?

i am planning DIY, hehe, banawe's really far away from my daily route(marikina, alabang, laguna)

3M dirt trap mats are expensive, any thing you could recommend for imitations. hehe, the freebie floormats from cubao are really not that good.

should i demand a maintenance free batt? if i'll have time, i'll shoot pics for the battery.

for the foglamps, yeap i have asked the dealer to note and sign with his name with regards to the foglamps. hehe. i'll just check prior to installation.

marine grade waterproof oil? where to buy? would this work better than those high temp spray paints ?(to limit rusting, baka kumalat kasi one day)

innovavy, for your DIY floormats you could check Ace for their "3M look" dirt traps. I think Handyman has them, too. It's available by the foot/meter and way more affordable than the orginal. If you check back on this thread a few weeks back, Mile2 even shared how he made 4 pcs out of this material which covered the entire floor.

Do our new Innovas still need a break-in period? where you should not run them over 100kph for its first 1K km?? When my wife or me used it the first couple of weeks within the village, my FC was only 4.6km/L. Now that I've been using it on the Skyway at 90-100kph, it's been climbing up to 5.6km/L. Wanted to go over the 100 mark since it seems to be helping my FC, but I'm concerned with the break-in rule of old.

I've read it here before that once I go to my first 1K km PMS and shift to fully synthetic, the FC will drastically improve, tama po ba yon? Thank you!

not always the case... i've been to other dealerships too and inspected their display units and noticed that the others came installed with low maintenance batterries... mine came with an Outlast low maintenance battery... my Innova recently turned 2 yrs. old... haven't experienced any problem up to now... even other members from Innova Club also have the same low maintenance battery from Outlast.
