Exactly what we did on our D4D. Dad still wants better speakers for the rear, though...and an amp to go with it.
No more problem on the VVT-i, since we replaced the front speakers with Ryan Audio seps, the rear ones with JVC 3-ways, and a 14-year old Dai Ichi 2-way amp for the rear speakers. I also added a V12 12" sub for the extra thump. And there's something I've noticed about the Innova when it's loaded with a sub...the deep bass doesn't resonate outward like in smaller cars.
Hi! When the stock speakers were removed, did the installer used drill?
If so, won't it compromise the door metal?
I was about to replace the speakers on my innova when i saw that it is riveted, rather than screwed. The installer was about to drill the rivets when I decided aginst it. I had the Head Unit replaced and the sound improved even without replacing the speakers. I plan to make further enhancements on the sound system after the warranty period but know little about amps, subs and such. Thanks.
I didn't notice that! Good observation. Dad got the front speakers installed, so I have no clear idea on what he did to get the speakers removed. The last time I opened up the door panel, the Ryan Audio seps were mounted on a wood spacer, which is screw-mounted on the door. I guess we'll just need stainless screws to prevent rust.
balita ko meron daw lalabas na innova sports edition... anyone nakakita na nito? this year daw lalabas... sana ok ang mga mods.... TIA
gud dy to all, ask ko lang po sa mga naka innova diesel kung kailan dapat magpalit ng fuel filter sabi kasi sa casa at 15,000 km odo reading dapat palitan na kaya I'm planning to have it change at my 20k PMS kasi 17,000 na odometer reading ng innova ko. Another question meron na ba sa inyo nakatry gumamit ng shell helix diesel plus na oil plan ko kasi gumamit after my warranty expires. tnx!
Iba-iba kasi ang sinasabi ng SA kaya minsan confusing if you will follow or not. Yeah its printed in the manual at 40k ang replacement ng fuel filter but i think i won't follow that with the kind of diesel fuel we have here. Anyway i'm just want to hear feedbacks from guys. thanks.![]()
Does anyone know if a 2009 rear sill protector has come out yet? I remember a post before about a DIY sill protector from Timo07 or Levithan, but I couldn't trace it now. Was that product a 3M transparent anti-slip tape that you could get at Ace? Thanks!
:offtopic: Please be aware that sms text language isn't allowed here. Let me rephrase your post in a common way:
" bro, yung innova ko, 20t plus na odo pero hindi pa din ako advice na magpalit...di naman siguro advice na magpalit agad nun unless magkaproblem na talaga siya..."
Better, isn't it?
Thank you, leinahtan! My apologies for getting your name wrong. I was able to get the 3M tape discounted at Ace during their Independence Day sale. How long have you had yours on, is it still sticking well on the edges? I guess you rounded off the corners and extended them over the edge to help prevent peeling? Does the Sellotape serve the same purpose? Or would you recommend one over the other? Thanks.
Ang tanong kailangan ba talagang palitan, otherwise it will cause future problems?
Sir, If you are talking about the diesel engine, you only need to replace the fuel filter element (currently priced at Php 400.00+). The Php4K+ might be the whole filter assembly and you don't need to replace this unless it is damaged. At an interval of 40k km on replacement, this is very affordable. You might even want to consider early replacement, say every 10K km. Anyway, the technicians can open the assembly to inspect the condition of the filter element.

I think it's around 2 years now since I last mounted them. It is still intact. To add finesse and prevent peeling especially on edges, I rounded off the corners patterned from a coin. Both served the same purpose, mainly from accidental scratches when taking off from the car and getting in. The 3M tape also serves as anti slip material. I chose the sellotape below the sill because it's transparent, concealing the tape itself even when the doors are closed. I tried the 3M too on the same spot before but it doesn't really look the way I want it. Mounting of the sellotape is kinda catchy. Surface area should be cleaned. I mean cleaned as detailed. Small soots or dust would ruin it while sticking the tape on. If you have observed the way how window tints are installed, it's the same exact way.
