all gasoline variants here are unleaded, regardless of the octane rating.
Here's my take about gasoline octane. The higher the value of octane like 93, the better for the engine to avoid knocking_an untimely detonation of the gasoline inside the cylinder. Knocking is bad for the engine.
Unleaded gasoline has a lower octane rating than premium but in no way it has less power or less advantages than the premium.
Unleaded is good enough for the Innova vvt-i.
Since year 2000, Gasoline sold locally are all unleaded even the premium, it only has additional more additives like combustion cleaner and octane booster. You pay extra engine protection and enhancer on premium unleaded, the cleaner your fuel system and combustion system the better your engine performs and it translate to fuel savings and maintenance cost savings.
If you look at our engine VVTi, there's a label on the front that says UNLEADED without the octane rating. It means it can use any unleaded type/rating.
Even the unleaded E10 can be use, but my take on E10...madaling maubos kaya yung savings on the price reduction is nil when you compute Peso/Kms.
To Innova owners, meron ba kayong naeexperience na masangsang na amoy galing sa aircon usually pag bagong bukas lang? Parang basang medyas yung amoy niya eh.
probably may molds sa evaporator mo kaya ganun ang amoy, try switching the thermostat all the way to the left (off) to turn off the compressor, run the blower only for a few minutes to dry off the system. usually this will clear all the unpleasant odors. If not, another step would be to clean your cabin air filter (i think for 07 models above yata meron nito, 05 to 06 models doesn't have a cabin air filter), its located behind the glove compartment.
Thanks for the comments sirs...
BTW, I saw already a topic (if i'm not mistaken) on how to handle minor scratches. I can't remember the thread number dami ksi, hwehehe... So, I'll just have to raise another inquiry and hopefully hear from all of you the soonest, nakaka-inis ksi pag nkikita ko. I'm just hoping na mkuha sa level1 (rubbing compound), nevertheless need to seek assistance to someone else. Bka meron kyong alam na scratch remover na as a personal experience, maganda and usefull tlga...TYIA

"Unleaded gasoline has a lower octane rating than premium but in no way it has less power or less advantages than the premium."
93 octane is in no way has less power than 95 octane?
yea, right. I bet F1 cars are using 93 octane (or even less) cause it is in "no way" has less power that higher octane gas.
[SIZE=2]is this OK for 15K plus 1.8K insurance for innova J gas manual??

Right. 93 octane has same power properties with 95 octane.
If you mean F1 cars are using 95 octane and not 93 the reason is not about power. The reason is more on the heat generated by the engine due to constant high revving. 95 octane would take longer to ignite than 93.
If, for the sake of discussion, F1 cars would use 88 octane, most probably there would be untimely detonation or igniting inside the cylinder which would have unsatisfactory result. Untimely detonation refers to the igniting of the fuel within the cylinder even though there's no spark yet from the spark plug.
Just wanted to share on my take regarding octane rating in gasoline fuel. Normally we use what the dealer recommends since "different cars different strokes" But on Asian cars we dont really care as long as its cost is bearable to our pockets. In my case, I have a corolla 1.3 that I fill up with unleaded fuel, obvioulsy bec of the price and of course..it being UNLEADED. However, once in a while I use a higher octane rating fuel. This in turn will help clean the engine. I learn about this from a relative when I was in the US and its widely used there. I drove an Acura Integra. I fill up between 83 to 88 octane and once every two months 95 to 98 octane. And I continue to use it here. I consider it a good habit duh.![]()
Just want to comment on this. I don't think there is a relationship between a fuel's octane rating and ability to clean the engine. A higher octane rating will help prevent detonation (premature combustion) which is not good for an engine. I would love to use higher octane rated fuels (V-power, Blaze) but it is hard on the budget. To help clean my engine, I follow or exceed the PMS requirement, specially on oil changes. Once in while, I drive to the provinces with revs of up to 4000 RPM, which may help in loosening those carbon deposits. More appropriately, the supposed cleaning additives in the fuels may help clean the engine combustion chamber, valves, etc.
Yes, you are right that there's no relationship between octane ratings and cleaning ability. But how Oil Companies positioned their products will make us choose whether we want cheaper or above normal cost of fuels. If you want more fuel enhancer/cleaner you'll find them on premium oil products and you'll have to pay more. It's all about product positioning.
It is not just about combustion chamber carbon cleanup that would dictate your cars performance. What about your fuel system? can regular unleaded clean your fuel system? I won't hurt a lot if you use premium unleaded like Caltex with Techron once in a while. Just an advice
Generally, it was E10 we should be worried about since Gasoline stations right now are selling unleaded without the E10 tag, but what they pump in to your tank was E10.
Toyota Philippines has not yet released any public documents on the E10 compliant vehicles that they have released in the Philippines....sucks really slow even on warranties (I have a warranty claim running 2 months now)
Honda Philippines website has list of Honda cars that are not E10 compliant, http://www.hondamakati.com.ph/Ver2/N...ubmit=Features
What's wrong with Toyota Philippines...sleeping on broad daylight!!!
