As of 4PM today, September 3, 2020, the Department of Health reports
the total number of COVID-19 cases at 228,403.
DOH likewise announces 880 recoveries. This brings the total number of
recoveries to 159,475.
A total of 1,987 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests
done by 91 out of 113 current operational labs.
Note: Of the 1,987 reported cases today, 1,627 (82%) occurred within
the recent 14 days (August 21 - September 3, 2020). The top regions
with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (657 or 40%), Region 4A
(347 or 21%) and Region 6 (151 or 9%).Of the 65 deaths, 2 occurred in
September (3%), 55 in August (85%) 6 in July (9%) 1 in June (2%) and 1
in April (2%). Deaths were from NCR (35 or 54%), Region 4A (9 or 14%),
Region 8 (6 or 9%), Region 10 (3 or 5%), CARAGA (3 or 5%), Region 1 (2
or 3%), Region 9 (2 or 3%), Region 12 (2 or 3%), Region 3 (1 or 2%),
Region 6 (1 or 2%), and Region 7 (1 or 2%).
There were 24 duplicates that were removed from the total case count.
Of these, 12 recovered cases have been removed.
Moreover, there were three (3) cases that were previously reported as
recovered but after final validation, they were deaths.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
