As of 4PM today, September 4, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 232,072.
DOH likewise announces 1,088 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 160,549.
A total of 3,714 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 93 out of 113 current operational labs.
Note: Of the 3,714 reported cases today, 3,259 (88%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 22 - September 4, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,488 or 46%), Region 4A (760 or 23%) and Region 6 (432 or 13%).
Of the 49 deaths, 5 occurred in September (10%), 35 in August (71%) 4 in July (8%) 3 in June (6%) and 2 in May (4%). Deaths were from NCR (31 or 63%), Region 7 (7 or 14%), Region 3 (3 or 6%), Region 4A (3 or 6%), Region 6 (1 or 2%), Region 9 (1 or 2%), Region 10 (1 or 2%), Region 11 (1 or 2%), and Region 4B (1 or 2%).
There were 40 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, 12 recovered cases have been removed.
Moreover, five (5) cases were removed from the total case count after final validation. Of these, two (2) cases were previously reported as recovered.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.

The Department of Health said it was meeting with COVID-19 vaccine developers on Friday to discuss the possibility of holding clinical trials in the country.

“We have a meeting with Pfizer at 1 o’clock this afternoon, together with the Office of the President, of course with the Secretary and DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs),” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said during a virtual briefing when asked if the Philippines would have access to the pharmaceutical company’s vaccine.

US President Donald Trump earlier said he thinks they “have a winner” with their federal government’s deal with Pfizer and biotech firm BioNTech, which are jointly developing four potential vaccines against the COVID-19 virus.

Mas lalo ako natakot when I heard that you can catch it from speaking or breathing. I don't wear a mask pa naman when I receive deliveries/packages. Sometimes I receive up to 6 a day. Kaasar kasi yung iba gusto pipirmahan pa, may iba naman pumapayag iwan sa gate. Once I receive spray agad ng alcohol buong package then I leave it for one week sa labas. Pag food naman I still spray the box or packaging

Sobrang laking pahirap sakin ng virus kasi we don't have our help na kasi stay out nga sila. Yung all around namin I let him get his motor naka park samin. Lumutong na upuan nagcrack sa tagal naka stuck. Naawa nga sakin ako nagputol ng bamboo samin, siya na lang nag ayos for collection sa labas
