Nope, diesels kasi eh mga oil burner talaga so expected yan na magbawas although not much naman dapat. About 500ml siguro every 3,000kms is okay esp if maraming high speed runs or heavy towing. Depends on the driving condition & healthc of the car.

Sir Ry, pag 500ml lang you could hardly noticed it sa dipstick level. Pwede top-off na lang.

Lube oil consumption depends on engine design and motor operating conditions. Dieselnet is a good source.

    Typical oil consumption values for pre-1980s engines were 0.46 g/kWh (0.34 g/bhp-hr; 0.25% of fuel consumption), pre-1990 engines ranged between 0.33-0.48 g/kWh (~0.15 - 0.20% of fuel consumption).

A test on a number of 2002 heavy-duty and medium-duty engines in the US yielded an average of 0.22 g/kWh (0.1% of fuel consumption).

Year 2007 heavy- and medium-duty engines consume on average 0.08 g/kWh (around 0.03% of fuel consumption)

    factors affecting oil consumption:

    1. engine speed
    2. others (lubricating oil properties, normal & abnormal wear and tear, etc., etc.)

oil scraper rings actually do some pumping action on the oil with the reciprocating motion of the piston.

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
