    Hi guys! Pardon my peskiness.

Which one would you use if you were in my position?

    1. Shell Rimula R4x: multigrade, (mineral oil?), 15w-40 with a CI4 rating * 205/ltr

    2. Shell Helix Diesel hx7: multigrade, (Synthetic or semi-synthetic?), 10w-40 with a CF rating * 365/ltr

    3. Shell Helix Diesel hx5: multigrade, (mineral oil?), 15w-40 with CF rating * 250/ltr

    4. Top1 HD plus:: multigrade, semi synthetic, 10w-30 with CI4 rating * 300/ltr

My plan is if I will choose option 1 or 3, OCI is at 5k, and if i'll choose 2 or 4 at a longer OCI perhaps 8-10k?

Isuzu recommends 10w-30, which is pasok na pasok ang Top1 plus a high CI4 rating.

Would be using Bosch oil filter rather than Vic. Walang Baldwin or FG talaga eh.

    Any suggestion/s?

    Again, advance apologies. Thank you.

20w50 yan. Malapot na yan in my opinion. Kaya Top1 SDO ginamit ko because of the 15w40 viscosity. Yung Baldwin, hindi sa lahat ng shops meron niyan. Sa mga heavy equipment shops lang meron niyan.

Ano downside ng 20w50? Older engines requires less malapot oil ba? Tried sending you a PM bro puno mailbox mo in-demand ka talaga hehe

Hirap hanapin ni baldwin. I guess mas okay naman na yung OEM filter kesa Vic?

mga sir question lang.. read here or another post na 'some' filters in ACE hardware are not 100% authentic? ang price range kasi na nakikita ko for a typical Vic C111 (Megamall, SM Tiendesitas) is around 250-ish. any support kung totoo na hindi totoong VIC filters ung asa ace?

second question ko po eh, if I bring my own oil (planning to get Mobil Super 2000) and filter sa gas station, mga magkano ba ang labor only sa change oil?

Nabasa ko rin dito before na may counterfeit na VIC filters sa Ace. I think sa remote bypass filtration thread meron doon comparison ng original and fake. Labor charge nasa Php150 lang sa gas station.

Downside - Higher fuel consumption and slower engine response

It's not true that old engines require more viscous oil. Old engines WITH worn out seals and gaskets will leak oil. When engines start to leak, your options are to replace the seals and gaskets, or if you don't have the budget for the repairs, use a more viscous oil to prevent the oil from leaking.

Thick oil or sticky oil or less slippery oil doesnt prevent oil leak it just limit it to a more manageable compared to thin oil

The base oil itself wont, but the "high mileage" oil additives that are specially formulated to restore and rejuvenate hardened oil seals will.

Mineral oils, specially higher SAE grade mineral oils have lower capillary action and will have a harder time sipping thru gaps on worn out seals and gaskets.
