i just heard that toyota will stop shipping the gas variant due to 2x demand in thailand. dont know if this is confirmd. it would be better kung pumila ka din sa 2.5d with another dealer. just a suggestion.Originally Posted by michael_pmc

Fortfan,
Pictures naman ng mga upgrades mo. I am quite curious about the side mirror lamps...
Yun sa atoy how many days did it took them to install it, nag drill ba sila? How about the color? exact ba?
Thanks...
The dealer is a good friend of my wife (actually the unit belongs to my wife as her car plan but we still added a sizeable amount because we wanted to get a Fortuner). Yes, I had to pay for the P35T increase. The dealer/friend was apologetic about it. He was also apologetic about the forced leather seats but he said that it already came with the unit and he had no choice but to sell it to us with the leather seats. However, he sold it to us at only P55K instead of the standard price of P75K something. I think its a good bargain 'cause the leather seats look good. Feeling ko parang expedition ang dinadrive ko because from the driver seat, the car really looks bulky, and color of the dashboard and the leather interiors.Originally Posted by vicoyski
Fortfan, did you have your backup sensor installed at Audiovox, Shang? How much did it cost? Will installing a backup sensor void the warranty of the car?
After the backup sensor, I am saving up again to replace the audio system. The default unit is an eyesore and does not sound good (although hindi naman ako audiophile).
Any suggestions on what should I replace the audio system with? How much does it cost. Nalalakihan ako sa existing, should I get a similarly large unit?
Thanks in advance to your tips and replies.![]()
Thanks Vicoyski, I had a chance to talk to an agent from another branch who said that it is common practice nowadays to insert favored customers into the list of legitimate waiting customers. Since Metrobank has a major stake in Toyota, the bank's owners (the Ty's) have been given free hand in assigning units to their personal clients ("mga anak ng diyos".) I am told to just grin and bear it because this particular brand and model is in so much demand right now. I've been seeing more and more Fortuners on the road nowadays and I don't think we'll be switching to another brand. I just read an article about the Fortuner in C! magazine and it looks like it won all the awards save for the sound system. I'm sure this will further fuel the demand for the Toyota. Btw, Carryboy has introduced a number of accessories specifically designed for the Fortuner, I plan to purchase the hood strut, but it's still not available as of this time, probably install a back up mirror , some off-road floor mats, and back up sensor.
I finally saw a Grayish Brown Metallic unit on the road yesterday... Nagkatabi pa kami in the traffic. It was a 2.7G. Very rare ako makakita ng ganitong color. Same goes for the Dark Gray Metallic.

Got My 4X2 2.5Diesel AT
Engine: 2KD-FTV (Same as Innova G model)
Price 1.288M, Free: 3M Tint, Ordinary seat cover n Ordinary floormat
In-house insurance (40K, mura ba?) & In-house financing
Pro’s
- Very minimal noise inside, like driving a gasoline engine
- Engine power ok naman
- Headlight Very Bright, no need to increase bulb wattage
Cons
- still no mud guard protection for the fog lamp on the passenger side
- aircon vent on the 3rd row is on the passenger side only, 2nd row no aircon vent
- inside rear view miror is stick on the windshield
- Horn loudness similar to a tricycle, hehe, d bagay sa size
Fuel consumption, inform you in the future
Where can I find rear sensor? How much kaya?
Wow congrats!!
Sana this month makuha ko na din yung sakin!
How's the engine dude? Ano yung old car mo and how does it compare (engine)?
Dude mejo mahaba na yung pila nyan, ako 2 months na ako nakapila sa 4x2 diesel. Ang pinagiisipan ko lang talaga right now is how to beef up the engine.
Bro may hoodscoop ba yung unit mo?
engine power d ko pa masyado hinatak, max 60kph lang muna, I think mahaba na rin pila kc ist choice ko is 2.7Gas, sabi ng dealer matatagalan talaga so I shift to 2.5 Dsl, no hood scoop
Ako din first choice ko 2.7 gas, kaso pila sobrang haba.
So it's confirmed. 102 HP lang talaga. Guys is there anything we can do to increase the power? Kahit 130 HP lang masaya na ako, kasi diba yung Fieldmaster Pajero 128 HP lang pero ok na, considering that the Fieldmaster is heavier than the Fortuner.
no hood-scoop means it doesn't have an intercooler? wow sounds exactly like the Innova's . . .
Yes. Exactly like the Innova's. Guys how much HP ba ang madadagdag pag maglalagay ng intercooler?
congrats!! anong number ka sa pila and branch ng dealer mo? number 12 kasi ako sa toyota makati for the 4x2 d4d.Originally Posted by fortuner13
as for the sensor, i think mas ok kung sa dealer ka na lang magpalagay, hindi mavo-void ang warranty ng electrical system. before gusto ko sana magpalagay sa labas. naiisip ko kahit mas mahal sa dealer, mas malaki babayaran mo kung masira or magkaproblema ang, let's say alternator mo. di you'll spend more than 20k for it kung void na warranty mo, sayang din.
congrats ulit. test mo naman kung ilan secs from 0 to 100 km. biritin mo na, he he.![]()
palagay kna lng ng intercooler ! i think that would do the trick
yung vent talaga sa 3rd row is pasenger side only hehe i think naman toyota aircon is kayang palamigin kahit walang aricon vent sa 3rd row
and just replace the horn with something better
congrats !
KCBOY: mahaba na yan pre ! nung nag pareserve kami ng 2.7gas namin nilabas na yan e mga 5 palang nakapilta that time pero ayaw talga namin ng diesel kaya de kami kumuha hehe so now i think kasing haba narin yan ng the rest of the variant !
hi! pang ilan ka sa pila sa dealer mo? thanks.Originally Posted by Bry

Congratulations! You're the first confirmed 2.5 D4D Fortuner owner tsikoteer. By the way, what's the letter code for the 2.5 D4D? The 2.7 VVTi is G. The 3.0 D4D is V. How about the 2.5 D4D? Is it the 2.5J?Originally Posted by fortuner13

bro - congrats and keep us posted on the fuel consumption. when i was in line for the 2.7L vvt-i and found out about the 2.5L d4d, gusto ko ring lumipat but my dealer told me that the waiting list number was already 56 and i would be no 57. hindi ma transpose yung priority ko sa 2.7L.
anyway, i think the 2.5L is a good choice despite the reservations on the power. it may not win rally or street races but it was not intended to be anyway
my only concern with the perceived "underpowered engine" vis-a-vis the weight of the vehicle was really the fuel consumption.
