Just got my unit yesterday, finally! Its a 2.7 gas color silver. My original order was for grayish brown but the silver unit was delivered to the dealer so I agreed to get it.

I put in my order at Bel-air during the launch for the grayish brown and up to now I am still 6th in line for the grayish brown with gas engine. The queue did not move for a month. It is a good thing that I had contacts in another dealer. This dealer promised me a unit by October but then he decided to give me his allocation for the gas unit this month. Thus I got my baby.

I had to pay for the leather seats but he gave it to me at a discounted rate. I also did not avail of the IHF. It really pays to know someone at the dealer.

I am still getting used to the visibility of the Fortuner which is a bit limited compared to my gen 2 pajero. The ride was also a bit bumpy and when I check the tire pressure it was only 28 psi so I had it corrected at 30psi. I was not able to test the engine because I went home last night on a convoy with my wife on our other car. I can't wait for the weekend where I plan to really test the responsiveness and horsepower of my car.

I plan to get backup sensors for my car but my dealer doesn't have the one which has the same body color as my unit. Where do you suggest that I go to to have one installed?

I can't wait to tinker around with my new toy.

Sayang yun rear bumper mo if you put a back up sensor. They're gonna drill 2 holes for it. And hope the installer isn't cross eyed.

Is there a review of the Fortuner in this month's C! Magazine?

Nope, it is a 7-seater comparo of 5 SUVs (Patrol, 2.5 gen Pajero, Everest, Alterra and Gas Fortuner). The Gas Fortuner topped all the categories (there was no off-roading) except for the rear space w/c went to the Alterra. And it was the top choice of all the writers.

congrats! buti ka pa nakuha mo na unit mo. ako still waiting for the launching of the 4x2 diesel variant plus no.12 ako sa waiting list sa toyota makati. lagyan mo kaagad ng back sensors. my current car has one and it helps a lot. ita-tap lang ito sa reverse light, di naman ito makakaapekto sa electrical system.

Congrats Greenlight on your new ride. Saan ang dealer mo?
Tama si Beebs, very useful yun reverse sensor. Audiovox Shangrila has a silver sensor but I am not sure if it is the same shade as that of the Fortuner's.

why dont you guys check out egr, if there is one available for the fortuner already
From my experience, for large and tall SUV's mostly its the bumpers that get more chips from stones on the road

    Greenlight Congrats!

Back up sensors were the first ones I had installed at the dealer. In fact, when I brought home my White ride, it already had it.

    Enjoy your new baby.

:car:

I have so far installed the side mirror lamp, door mouldings, backup sensor, 3M tint, Kelseat. Next sa budget ko: Wood panel, floor mat, DVD. Hindi ko pa masyadong na-d-drive kasi wala pa akong plaka, baka mahuli ako ng NPNT cops.

At first I though it would block the intercooler. But, I was told that it helped the intercooler intake by creating low pressure vortices in it's wake, which are then sucked into the hoodscoop.

    Thanks, guys.
Sorry Fortfan but I can't disclose my dealer because he accommodated my request to prioritize me and I might have stepped on someone else's toes. Baka tsikoter pa yon.

*greenlight: Congratulations! I see you sorta decided to bite the bullet and get your unit with a different color and some add-ons. Did your other dealer add-on the P35T increase? Tubo kagad sila, 'coz they have prolly been holding-on to the unit since last month when there was still no increase (check the date on your delivery invoice). Anyway, make sure to cancel your reservation at Toyota Makati. Para isipin doon na may mga nawawalan na ng gana and hopefully that'll make them think twice about any "In-House Terror" tactics. Also, para ma-bump-up yung mga nakapila...
