does the fortuner have rollover safety ratings by an independent organization? like what the US has with the nhtsa? nhtsa has rollover ratings and chances in terms of percentage.

its funny we often read in magazines car reviews, stating car x is fun to drive better than car y. They say car x feels more solid and safer to drive but these are opinions rather than analytical conclusions. In the US you have organizations which literally crash these cars - they are fitted with crash test dummies that are wired up to a computer, a series or a set of cameras and sensors. At the end of the day they evaluate the numbers and can officially say this car is safer. i wish we have this in our country.

interesting read... now if only I had a test fascility, a fortuner to literally crash, a computer and some engineers to apply the equations and theories Just kidding there. on the NHTSA website, there is a 22% chance of rollover for the explorer hehehe taas! which is very good data and a straight forward answer for an "ordinary" consumer. I wonder why automobile manufacturers never actually post on their spec sheet this highly critical safety item? I guess they are afraid of lawsuits hehehe.

Hey guys! The quote you got for leather seats at the dealer is almost or near half the price you would get at kelseat ;) Their manufacturing(or assembly) building is located in las pinas, behind sm southmall. With the price of 75k-85k, siguro from ceiling to floor leather na yan lol

Vicosky, bagit mas mabagal ang Fortuner 3.0 V kase Sorento 2.5CRDi? Unang-una malaki ang makina ng Fortuner, tapos mas magaan ang Fortuner compare sa Sorento? Parehong CRDi naman ang engine nila right?

I don't think it's possible, eh... Just look at these figures:

Max Output (bhp / rpm)
3.0V Fortuner 163 / 3400
2.5EX Sorrento 142 / 3800

The only Sorento that could possibly be faster than the 3.0V Fortuner is the the 3.5 V6 EX with a max output of 197bhp at 5500rpm.

honestly, im feeling ripped off right now ... my deal with them is 30%dp/24mos + 200k worth of accessories although i could pay in lump in the first month amort. BUT she couldnt commit na makukuha ko unit within 2 months.

i will be calling my SA tomorrow & give her a big fcuk on her face. ill tell her na magcash nlang ako & just get the kelseat & HiD ... and just wait however long it would take.... im starting to think na wala naman talagang mahabang pila

Grabe, 200K??!??! Argh, I thought we were ripped off na nga coz of the 60K Kelseat, pero since sabi ng mga tsikoteers dito na bargain na daw yun, mas gumaan ang loob ko, thanks Mas malupit pala ang hinihingi sayo, grabe, 3 times more!

mrvicz, mahal yung HiD at 40K..unless philips brand yan. usual brands like xenon-bulbs, genki or prizm go around less than 30K eh...

i am now driving my fortuner 4x2 D4d Greyish Brown after 5 weeks of waiting. i got my unit from Toyota Davao last night. leather seats and 3m tint are the only accessories installed by the dealer. 60k yung seats and 9k yung 3m magic tint. Dun lang ako namahalan sa Tint na 9k, pero dahil 5 weeks lng antay ko walang problema yun.

Last night i traveled 200kms from Davao to Cotabato and my fuel consumption is 10.75kms per liter. around 15% city and 85% provincial road.

Im satisfied with the power of 2.5 D4d. For me it is not underpowered. My family owns 3 isuzu with 2.5 4Ja1 engine and a 2.8 4jb2 fuego. If i compare the power of D4d to these isuzu engines, hmm.. mas powerful ang 2.5 D4d.

Finally pwede na din makisali sa thread na ito, hehe! Got mine, black, 2.7 gas, this month sa Otis pero had to pay extra 200k for the add-ons (Leather Seats, HID bulbs, DVD player with monitor, back-up sensors, body cladding, front over rider, rear skirt and muffler cutter).

Ganon ba talaga kalakas sa gas ito? Had 3 full tanks already. One full tank (65liters) nakaka average of 320kms lang. More or less 5km/liter lang, puros city driving.

Nga pala may Fortuner Club na ba?

*allenjo...Buti ka pa nakuha mo w/in 14 days. For me, (ending-8) it's going 11 wks and still counting . My agent told me just today that they already have a pending case at LTO, kase marami silang kostumer na nagrereklamo sa sobrang tagal. Hay nakuuu....
