hello everyone, am new to this site, just wanted to share, i owned a toyota innova V d4d 2008 model odo was 55k+km, i drove this car everyday for close to 70km per day, fortunately, i didn't encounter any problems for over two years already. The only problem i met which i think was not really a problem was i changed the battery after a year.

If I had chanced upon this thread before buying my D4D innova on Nov. 2007, I might have gotten the gas variant instead. Infatuated ako noon sa itsura ng Innova. Or maybe the Carens as it was my second choice (LX Manual was cheaper then against the Innova E D4D model). I'm just enjoying my ride now as it is performing well for me. Kung may pambili ako ng bago? Sure why not, pero as it is stick muna ako dito. Even high end cars are not immune to problems. Last year, I saw a Brand New Merc Kompressor na nakatirik sa tuktok ng E.Rodriguez flyover (crossing Ortigas Ave.) Wala pa syang plaka, nakataas ang hood and the driver was on the phone, presumably trying to get some help.

our company toyota innova D4D 2005 pabalik balik na nilinis ang fuel tank dahil sa complain namin na bigla namamatay pag aarngkada finally TCI recommend and replace sunction valve at EGR sumabay na din kasi umilaw engine warning at clutch components due sliding clutch now its running like brandnew fuel efficient na naman sya ulit. for me i go for D4D fuel efficient plus every day used and company owned innova na ginagamit namin from quezon city to, tagaytay, sbma, lucena, lipa. puro long trip. BTW its innova E D4D 2005.

surely there will be no problem on your d4d engine if the vehicle is properly maintained
the engine is the life of the car, so if it is properly fed, then I do believe it will give you great results while driving.....

im an Innova d4d owner - had my car since March, 2006

I am planning to buy an innova d4d, I have bought one before at year 2005 and I sold it at 2008 because of d4d problems. I consulted again toyota what modification did they have and told me that beginning 2008 they have modifications that wont choke. I would like to know if there are still problems of choking who bought units after march,2008. Thanks

Lot's of people have had issues even when their unit is casa maintained at the right intervals.

Bottomline is mukhang chambahan (or malasan) sa unit =/

Fortuner Club Philippines tried to contact Toyota about this last year.

After reading through D-4D issues thread in the FCP forums, TJ Manotoc, even did a brief video report on TV to publicize this choking issue but to no avail. (Try to find it in youtube)

Even despite the increased publicity (bec. of Manotoc's video), Toyota never agreed to a countrywide recall or something. Toyota did agree to quietly diagnose, repair, etc.. the defective units of those who from the forums (FCP and tsikot) who complained. (Good luck to those who don't go to forums or not tech savvy).

Toyota Phils. always manages to sweep it under their rug all the time. Even a direct question and answer with Toyota Phil officials in their plant in Laguna only lead to sheepish looks, feigned ignorance (of the issue) and reticent responses.

share ko lang, i have an innova 2005 D4d, encountered hard starting problem after 2 years (2007), toyota replaced fuel inlet pipe and o-ring, problem was solved. after 3 years it happened again... tried to contact toyota , they said that it might be the supply pump or suction control valve, the SCV costs arund Php8200. in the end i opted to go somewhere else, i found a repair shop in alabang and what they did was just initialization, wala pang 3mins tapos na...and it cost me around Php500. immediately problem was solved...hopefully yun lang ang prob at di na maulet...

could be a bit of chamba and/or to even to cross your fingers tight upon getting your car/d4d vehicle.....
yet I still believe on proper maintenance on the owner of the car; its not just mere sense of the PMS in itself but the best contributor for a diesel engine is on how you perform your driving on the d4d.....

tsk!! patay tayo jan! i told a friend na she can get the 2010 innova-D4D since i thought fixed na yung mga D4D issues.
