i believe toyota will never admit it. because if they did, they will be flooded by lawsuits. and that is why we need the lemon law.

naexperience ko tuwing umaga pag start ko ng engine ok naman pero pag arangkada na palyado... parang nagdradrag pag bibitaw ng clutch sa 1st gear....pag mga 1km na tatakbo ko ok na ala na drag.
please help...
di ko pa dinala sa toyota balak ko sa 35K PMS isabay checkup and also para alam ko kung ano sasabihin ko sa toyota baka mamaya kung ano lang reason sabihin.

My tito had a Innova J 2006 D4D model which he sold recently... it had 304K+ Kms on the ODO plus it had the "T-Belt" and "check engine light" on... hahahahahahaha! and it was driven mostly by driver who use to be a jeepney driver so you can imagine the abuse it's been through. It had difficulty at times when starting or choking and stuff but we noticed that if you just forced it, it'l just keep on running. basta regular oil and filter changes does wonders. That car made me in Toyota's reliability talaga, but my tito had to sell it cuz he's scared that he might have a hard time selling it later on hehehe.

i have a friend who owns a fortuner 05 model 4x4 D, had a problem last week, ayaw humatak kahit anong apak mo sa gas, though tumatakbo pero gapang. then umilaw yung check engine light sa dash. when she got home, tinignan ng driver yung engine, parang natanggal yung sa ecu nya na connector, so kinabit nya and test drove it, okay naman, pero to make sure, pinadala nya sa casa. they did a computer diagnostic lumabas she had to replace daw engine ecu; turbo charger assy; egr; at air filter! ang laki ng damage! would you guys know of a shop for me to get a second opinion kasishe asked for my help? also, if talagang kailangan palitan yung parts, may mabibilhan ba sa labas ng mas mura kaysa sa casa?

anyway, my diagnosis would be that you have a faulty EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) Valve. ito lang ang palitan mo, then ECU reset.
kung ECU ang sira, unang-una palang hindi na mag-start ang sasakyan mo. air filter, well walang kinalaman ito sigurado ako 100%. turbo? sabi mo nga gumagapang lang, meaning kahit sa simula ayaw nang humatak, wala nang kinalaman ang turbo dito.
got a 2010 D4D MT.. paano ko ma mamaintain nanag maayos yung engine ko? first time kasi namen mag deisel.. so far wala pa naman ako nararanasan di maganda my odo is 1.6k.. ano yung mdalas masira sa D4D engine na kailangan palitan?.. hindi pba na iimprove nang toyota yung D4D?.. napapansin ko kasi sa mga older model nang D4D daming nagiging problema..
salamat mga sir.. hayyss.. kung nalaman ko lang kagad na madami pala nagiging problema ang D4D sana nag VVTi nalang kame.. pero sa taas nang gas at lakas lumamon nang gasolina kaya nag diesel kme.... sana hindi masama yung sakin sa mga madalas magka problema...
I just recently ordered the 2x4 HiluxG d4d engine. I did so based on my previous experience with my surf (Excellent Performance) and reliable sources of experiences from my kins and next-of-kins, and also friends who uses Toyota D4D engines, whether it be Innova, Fortuner or Hilux. All of them are satisfied owners of such. The least is a 2-years user and have not encountered of any sort of EGR, ECU, Supply pump problems mentioned here. And my brother-in-law's Hilux is around 5-years and counting.
Thus, I ordered one stated aboved. Hoping di ko ma-experience your sad experiences here. I concur with the last posters that proper driving and maintenance is the secret to having a reliable car. Mechanical defects even if under warranty could not be avoided coz not all engines or its parts were manufactured/assembled under exactly the same tolerances - this is obvious in assembly lines where human intervention is absolutely necessary - baka may inaantok during the assembly or whatever
If ever there is really manufacturing defect, then why are there so many satisfied D4D engine users out there. As I have recalled, not less than a thousand units were sold every year by Toyota here in the Philippines of this D4D engine, and complaints in this forum does not even reach 10% of that volume of sales. I am after probabilities, that is why.
With these in mind, may I opined that swertehan lang din yan as one of the forumer here says coz U really can't determine if Ur newly released D4D has really Passed a "QUALITY" Quality Control, thus the warranty

well may dalawa akong nakausap, isa sa mufflerland, yung isa sa servitek, tinanong ko kung nagkaproblema ba sila sa choking and yes, nagkaroon sila ng problem. tinanong ko kung alam nila ang tsikot and they said no.
marami ring users ang hindi nakakaalam ng tsikot so iilan lang din ang nakakapagpost dito hehe.
but like what others said, 1 out of 10 lang naman ang possibilites ng D4D issues eh. hit or miss. Russian roulette game ito hehe.
