You, me, or anybody can be a carrier of the virus.

Taiwan has been included to the travel ban this weekend because of the WHO ruling that lumps Taiwan with the PROC. All foreigners from Taiwan has been barred entry. Any filipino citizen or people holding a residency permit coming from Taiwan will be subjected to 14 day quarantine.

Pati moderate symptoms can lead to death...

Experts find how moderate 219-nCoV infection ends with death - Focus Taiwan

Zhou Zheng (周正), an expert in respiratory medicine at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University in Hunan Province, said one feature of 2019-nCoV infection is that patients can develop moderate symptoms in the first two days of infection but can become seriously ill on the third day or later.

Attributing this to the phenomenon of cytokine storm -- a high level of circulating inflammatory cytokines -- Zhou said the novel coronavirus can stimulate the body's immune system, which can further damage the cells.

"A normal immune system protects, but an over-active immune system can not only damage the lungs but also other organs, including the kidneys, liver and heart," he said.

A recent Lancet publication titled "Clinical Features of Patients Infected with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus in Wuhan, China," also describes the correlation of the cytokine storm and the severity of illness in patients infected with 2019-nCoV.

Home quarantine pa lang ata... DIY lang.

The quarantine, according to the Bureau of Quarantine, it will be a home quarantine for 14 days, and that there will be epidemiology specialists who will be monitoring the travelers who just arrived as well as keep track of them and check them twice a day through calls.
Filipinos, permanent residents will be allowed entry in PH, to go straight to 14-day quarantine >> Manila Bulletin News

"“This shows the novel coronavirus is not uniformly fatal and that recovery is more likely than dying from the disease,” said Dr Edsel Salvana, director of the University of the Philippines’ Institute of Molecular Biology. “Please don’t panic and don’t share fake news.”"
How about if they reveal how intensive the treatment was or if it's just an easy cure?

It would ease people's fear if they know ordinary hospitals could handle this infection if ever a local outbreak occurs.

    ^^^

bet the patient's immune system did most of the work

    --

tsaka since 1st Ph case siya, meron doctors and nurses nakatutok sa kanya

    dedicated service

hindi tulad sa wuhan sa sobra dami ng pasyente overwhelmed ang staff... may mga pasyente namamatay nalang sa hallway ng ospital

if a local outbreak occurs and hundreds of people are at the ER... wala na... don't expect dedicated service

Dapat talaga may negative pressure rooms sila sa clinic ng cruise ships. Crazy how they can spend so much money on liesure amenities but lack medical facilities.

there's another explanation that isn't "repeated over and over"

that coz healthy people have strong immune systems and when they encounter a virus never seen before, their immune system mounts an exaggerated response resulting who WHOLE BODY inflammation which shuts down vital organs
That is the scary part. What if you are in the 2% that has that exaggerated immune system response? Sobrang bilis pa. 2 days lang.
