Nissan Motor will suspend operation of the completed vehicle plant in Kyushu. The
supply chain has been disrupted by the pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus, making it
difficult to procure parts from China. Nissan is the first Japanese automaker to suspend operations at a domestic plant due to new pneumonia. The normalization of parts procurement is likely to take some time, which may affect the operation of not only Kyushu but also other domestic factories, which may lead to a prolonged reduction in production.
