    DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #149

As of 4PM today, August 10, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 136,638.

We are reporting 6,958 new cases for August 10, 2020. Top reporting regions were NCR 4,163 (60%) cases, followed by CALABARZON (1,323 or 19%) and Region 3 (302 or 4%). Also noted are the 254 cases reported among Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF). These were from the submission of 74 of the 99 confirming laboratories.

Of these newly reported cases, 5,789 (83%) occurred within the recent 14 days (July 28-August 10, 2020). The top regions with cases in these recent two weeks were NCR (3,447 or 60%), CALABARZON (1,097 or 19%), and Region 6 (205 or 4%). Top provinces and cities where new cases were reported were NCR, and three provinces in CALABARZON, namely Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite, and Bulacan in Region 3.

Our case clustering report showed that there are 380 clusters in NCR; 305 (80%) are in the communities and 34 (9%) in health facilities. CALABARZON has 174 case clusters and Region 7 with 171 case clusters – majority were also in communities.

A total of 633 new recoveries are reported bringing the total recoveries to 68,159 or 50% of cumulative cases. There were 24 new deaths. Of the 24, six (25%) occurred in August, 11 (46%) in July, and seven (29%) in April (2), May (1) and June (4). The six deaths in August were reported from Region 6 (3), NCR (1), Region 1 (1), and CALABARZON (1). Note that of the 50 cumulative deaths which occurred in August, 22 (44%) were from NCR.

    Note:
There were 233 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, 143 recovered cases and one (1) death were removed. We also updated the health status of six (6) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths (4) and active (2) cases.

Malamang wala ng follow through sa mga positive mild na pinauwi. So they will be part of the statistics forever.

they have ECMO machine which seems a life saver and other med machines. imagine an Indian National na nacovid. nagkaron pa ng TB, kidney problem at pneumonia and Covid. ang tagal niya sa ICU at nabuhay siya to welcome his new baby. swerte din niya at covered ng government ng SG bill niya, he was one of SG medical success in Covid era.

Kung usapan is minimum wage at pumayag siya wala nga naman magagawa legally. Walang bawal dun.

Though human consideration pwede sana dinagdagan ng meal allowance or hazard pay man lang.

Kaso unfair naman sa St. James, baka may reaonable explanation naman sila at bakit ganun lang. Malay natin sa 26-10 na suweldo eh meron pala binibigay na ibang allowances or amelioration. Yan hirap sa trial by publicity eh. Hehe.

Kaya we should not jump into conclusions.
