Hoping Cebu City cases start to slow soon... They are doing a good job mass testing their IS communities and putting everyone who tested positive in special units.

ALARMING: Contributing to the growing number of infections again today is Singapore, setting a worrying trend for three weeks now with 876 New Cases today. The island state has now reported more than 23,000 infections to date with a majority stemming from the migrant workers dormitory fiasco. Singapore contributes about 40% of Total Cases in the region. Whereas Indonesia and the Philippines continue to report the second and third highest number of New Cases in the region. As it has for the past week, Malaysia’s New Cases continue to hover in the two-digit region while Thailand’s are firmly fixed in the single-digit sphere. Malaysia has also extended its Conditional Lockdown beyond the Eid Festival until 9 June. There are now slightly more than 1,800 Total Deaths in ASEAN with 29 New Deaths reported today – all in just two ASEAN member states – the Philippines (15) and Indonesia (14). Of the 15,313 Total Recoveries to date in all 10 countries, 32% are in Malaysia, the highest in the region. Alarmingly, 50% of all Active Cases in ASEAN are to be found in Singapore. Compounding this is the fact that the island state currently has the lowest Recovery Rate (9%) in ASEAN.

lift quarantine?
some folks are hopeful, the numbers won't skyrocket once the quarantine is lifted.
other folks are afraid, that the figures may skyrocket...
...save the economy, or save lives?
i don't know.
as is obvious,
no one has ever encountered this virus before.
any projection is only... a guess, based on current information, which, experts agree, are still woefully inadequate.

GCQ is still a quarantine since people below 20 yo and above 60 yo are banned from coming out. Offices at 50% workforce. Limited public transportation. Checkpoints all over to check your age and ID. Fewer people allowed into the malls. Difference is you allow some semblance of economic actitvity so the government can collect taxes again.
Important thing is people should keep their mask on. Use Hand sanitizers and keep physical distancing.
the purpose of increasing healthcare capacity is to be able to absorb new cases pag lift ng ECQ
pag puro daily new cases lang ang binabantayan mo
at naghihintay ka ng ZERO new cases bago mo i-lift ung lockdown...
forever lockdown yan

Hopefully, voices of panic and fear can give way to nuanced thinking.
1. Science should inform, not dictate, broader public policy.
2. Risk management is about recognizing and managing risks, not reducing risk to zero.
3. Illness may or may not kill people. But hunger will surely kill people. Those who want to prevent people from earning a livelihood should know that they are killing people.
4. If people don't work, they will not earn income and they will not pay taxes. Without taxes, government cannot sustain any stimulus program.
5. People who are able to get by without going to work because they have enough savings or uninterrupted paychecks from large employers should be patriotic enough to understand those who are raring to go out and work in order to buy
their next meal and pay their debts.
large employers my assPeople who are able to get by without going to work because they have enough savings or uninterrupted paychecks from large employers should be patriotic enough to understand those who are raring to go out and work in order to buy
extend this lockdown more those large employers won't remain so large anymore
enough savings my ass
extend this lockdown more the financial system will collapse and your savings vanish into thin air
it is always good to have a conservative voice abreast the more adventurous spirit, lest the latter reign un-fettered.
