well the fact that SARSCOV-2 overtook SARS-Classic some months ago is already an indication that it's more transmissible

right now too many people in the world are already infected so it's unlikely to go away like SARS

and many of those infected are asymptomatic spreaders

dunno how something like this can go away on its own

it will probably go the way of smallpox.
it will be with us forever, until there comes the development of a vaccine.

Manila definitely needs to remain in ECQ. They are doing a poor job of containment, even with the 2 days hard lockdown seems to have made little differnce in Tondo.

Valenzuela and San Juan LGUs are doing it right

    test -- trace -- isolate

    hindi testing lang

ung iba kasi para masabi may ginagawa they do mass testing pero wala follow thru

when you got a confirmed positive you isolate them and you send a tracing team to look for all the close contacts

actually pati 2nd layer contacts kailangan hanapin pero limited resource (need to hire more people to work as tracers)

and many are becoming desperate for dole outs....

Wait for a couple more weeks if GHQ is allowed to see the actual damage to the economy. Mass business closures and unemployment...many unable to pay their bills...

while the long lines for financial support are very visible, and business is taking a heavy beating,

the deaths are not as noticeable nor emotionable. after all, they are just numbers on a tabulation.
if the quarantine is lifted prematurely, the numbers may go up a lot higher... but will still not be as visible as the queues.
only the families they left behind will feel...

i do not envy the person who will have to make the decision.

    I read it too.

    From the Scientist:

“The more we learn about the coronavirus, the more questions arise. We are learning while we are sailing. That’s why I get so annoyed by the many commentators on the sidelines who, without much insight, criticize the scientists and policymakers trying hard to get the epidemic under control. That’s very unfair.”
