Still unreliable, unless we're not going to isolate those asymptomatic positive? flattened nga talaga yan.

since ikaw na rin lagi ang nagsasabi, sobrang daming asypmtomatic dyan.

Let's say na test natin 80% of our population, half ang nag positive and 90% of that 50% are asymptomatic and if we're going to isolate them in our current quarantine areas, kulang yan for sure.

Paano naging flattened unless hindi na kelangan i-isolate ang asymptomatic.

Since unreliable ang data, i'll go with eye test this time, as long as walang tsunami of patients going to the hospitals and wala tayong mga patay na nakikita sa kalsada, we're still good.
    sweden?
they're banking on herd immunity to kick in.
some critics say, sweden did not provide for their vulnerable population... the sick and the elderly,
    hence their high fatality numbers.

this, despite the facts that there are only some 10 million swedes that can easily be "nudged into activity", and they have an effective healthcare delivery system...

would i want to be a swede?
i don't know. senior citizen kasi ako, eh.

What is the PH doing wrong compared to Thailand and Malaysia...???

As in past weeks, Singapore continues to report the highest number of New Cases stemming from the yet to be resolved migrant workers cluster, bringing the island state’s Total Cases past the 20,000 mark. Active Cases in the region continue to steadily rise with Singapore having well over 18,000 – the highest in ASEAN to date. Singapore also has the worst Recovery rate at just 7.5%. Indonesia’s New Cases have eased slightly today while the Philippines has seen an unfortunate increase. Malaysia’s New Cases too have increased a little today while Thailand continues to report just one New Case for the second day running, a sign of better things to come for the Land of Smiles. Elsewhere, only Brunei reported one New Case. Total Deaths could breach the 2,000 mark by the end of this week with 46 New Deaths reported today. All New Deaths reported are in just four countries – Indonesia (23), the Philippines (21), Malaysia (1) and Thailand (1). On a positive note, there are now more than 13,000 Recoveries across ASEAN.

    well, hindsight is usually 20-20...

early in the game, i said something like, "welding... it would seem, the chinese authorities know their people..."
    pinagalitan ako ng isang tsikoteer.
    heh heh.

the singaporeans allow home quaratine, but enforcement is strict and penalties for dis-obedience are harsh, daw.

Sir i'm limiting my definition of "flatten the curve" to its original meaning which is to keep new infections below healthcare capacity

since it looks like hindi overwhelmed mga hospital natin...

meron pa nga isang lady sa twitter nagsabi hindi daw masyado busy mga hospital

like i said earlier ung meaning ng "flatten the curve" lumayo na sa original meaning

naging "no more new cases" tuloy ang meaning ng flatten the curve

kaya pag tinanong mga tao if the curve was flattened lahat nagsasabi hindi

kasi araw araw may hundreds of new cases

it would be nice, if we can prevent those who test positive, from passing the infection along...

in some countries, anyone who tests positive is quarantined in the hospital.
if we did this, would there be a long admission line in the hospitals? would this equate to overwhelming the healthcare delivery system?

" there are ways to manipulate 'flatten the curve' ".

The DOH has finally released a more detailed count of active cases including Asymptomatics and those in home quarantine.

So how come you're always saying "the more you test the more you'll know that there's a lot of asymptomatic out there"

I will ask you, do we need to isolate those that are asymptomatic? Kaya kaya ng quarantine areas natin?

It's flattened only on the limited data we have now pero pag sinama mo asymptomatic dyan na hindi pa natetest, hindi kaya ng facilities natin mag isolate.

Exactly, flattening the curve means controlling the situation. The real situation. The question is, do we really know the situation, yes the numbers... I'd bet my bottom peso those numbers are far far from reality.

    errr...
    the denominator is missing.

if the question is -- is the gov't doing a good job preventing new infections?

    the answer is no

other asean countries are doing a better job

    we're not isolating the infected

umaasa tayo sa home quarantine pero hindi applicable talaga sa atin kasi maliit ang mga tahanan tapos madami tao

so hawa hawa mga tao sa bahay

tapos tatambay sa labas, pupunta sa palengke etc

You will only get the correct data if each and every Filipino get tested, and the tests should give instantaneous results. Because the test is only good at the time you were tested. If the test resuls will take days, then even if you get a negative result, you can get infected right after you leave the testing center.

of course you need to isolate

kahit hindi pa confirmed positive, pag na-swab mo, ilagay mo na sa quarantine center while waiting for result

you don't send them home (paano pag positive pala)

    --

i keep saying the more you test the more infected people you'll find

because this virus is very contagious and i believe many people are already infected

many are walking around unaware they're already carrying the virus

    --

ulitin ko ha -- ung FLATTEN THE CURVE hindi ibig sabihin no more cases

it means you're keeping number of new infections below healthcare capacity

    --

    kulang quarantine facilities natin
