and the hits keep on coming.

The coronavirus may be “reactivating” in people who have been cured of the illness, according to Korea’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

About 51 patients classed as having been cured in South Korea have tested positive again, the CDC said in a briefing on Monday. Rather than being infected again, the virus may have been reactivated in these people, given they tested positive again shortly after being released from quarantine, said Jeong Eun-kyeong, director-general of the Korean CDC.

what caught my attention isn't the numerous ongoing vaccine developments

it's the pharma companies searching their libraries for compounds that may work against the virus

kasi while the world is waiting for a vaccine we can use an effective antiviral muna so the world can get out of lockdown and go back to work

like people can take a prophylactic antiviral para hindi magkasakit pag nahawaan ng SARSCOV2

(like people take anti malaria drugs before going into malaria-prevalent regions)

kailangan na umalis sa lockdown ang mundo sobra laki na ng economic damage
Ganun yata ginagawa na nila para ma bypass na isang stage which is safety for human.

there's still a lot to learn about the virus and the disease it causes

what if when you "recover" it doesn't mean your body has cleared the virus

what if your immune system only suppressed it and when you experience stress or didn't get enough sleep it comes back

what if it doesn't really go away

what if it just wants to live in our body like it does in bats

governments around the world act on limited knowledge

the world only has 4 months worth of knowledge about this virus

lockdowns are meant to slow down the rate of infection

it's not going to eliminate the virus

Maybe what OP meant was, sayang effort kung napigilan nga natin yung spread. Nawala na yung veerus, sabag nag reactivate. Back to square one na.

I dont know. Iniiisp ko lang.

Pwede daw inaccurate yung confirmatory tests, baka naman rapid test kit ginamit kaya may false negative.
But kung totoong ganito ka resilient ang virus na ito, +1 sa china, finally may product sila na matibay.

well it is already a given that when you lift the lockdown sisipa ang infections

actually Nograles used those exact words noong isang araw -- sisipa ang infections

just because there's news that the virus can reactivate in recovered patients doesn't make lockdowns useless

the goal of lockdown is not to wait for patients to recover

it's to slow down the rate of infection -- the R-naught number

if no lockdown the R0 number is like 2.5 to 3

with lockdown the number goes down

maybe the recovered patients did not produce enough antibodies in them to fight off reinfection
