    Doc:
    bottomline,
covid vaccination on children may not be universally accepted yet, because there are no studies that say it is safe enough for them, or that they stand to benefit from them.

COVID-19 Vaccines for Children and Teens
    Updated July 23, 2021

Although fewer children have been infected with COVID-19 compared to adults, children can:

    - Be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19

    - Get sick from COVID-19

    - Spread COVID-19 to others

CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the pandemic. People who are fully vaccinated can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic. Learn more about what you and your child or teen can do when you have been fully vaccinated. Children 12 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.

and i'd like to stress that even if US FDA already gave EUA to pfizer (for 12 yr old up) many parents are still concerned

    -

and because we follow US lead...

our FDA also approved pfizer vax for 12 and up around 2 months ago

Lower numbers for ICU utilization but higher numbers for positivity rate and new cases.

This is the highest single-day total for the PH, as the 15k record before was an aggregate of 2 days. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Nearly 1 in 4 PCR tests results as Covid positive.

Ability to protect is proven, side effects are also known. What we still have to find out are the length of protection & the long term effects on the adolescents.

There used to be one at the DOH fb page but I can't seem to find it anymore. It was listed per region, IIRC.

I have a strong feeling ECQ will be extended. And will likely include more provinces/cities.

If you recall, there wasn't a visible surge after Jan when there were super spreader events like the Feast of the Nazarene going on. Late Feb was when we finally started to feel it in Metro Manila. We began seeing a downturn in cases after a week and a half of ECQ, but the only thing we worried about then was the UK Variant (aka Alpha) and the South African variant (aka Beta).

Given the much higher viral load of the Delta variant, it will likely take more than an ECQ to slow it down.

Our ECQ has just began so we will see the drop in cases probably 3 weeks from now since the virus has an incubation period we are currently seeing data based on covid positive patient weeks ago.

the cases we are seeing now started incubating before the lockdown.
the effects of the lockdown will probably start getting noticed at the end of the lockdown or even later.

    di naman weeks ago

i mean i don't think cases being reported this week are infections that happened weeks ago

since mabilis dumami ang delta variant sa loob ng ilong/lalamunan mabilis mag cause ng symptoms

those who got tested this week probably caught it last week

to see the effect of ECQ (if there will be an effect) we'll probably see it next week

pero i think wala masyado effect itong ECQ coz this variant is so contagious
