PH welcomes 2 million more Sinovac vaccines | ABS-CBN News

Galvez also said another 4 million Sinovac vaccine doses and 1 million Sinopharm vaccines will be delivered to the country on August 19 and 20.

The government is also expecting another 578,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines procured by the private sector, and 15,000 doses of Sputnik V component 2, which will be used as second dose, this Friday.

Health officials scolded Dr. Romeo Quijano after he claimed on dZRH that the jabs are "more dangerous" than the virus itself.

"It is especially irresponsible as the country continues to face the threat of the more infectious Delta variant," the agency said in a statement.
A further search on the internet about Quijano shows he was also on the same radio program in April. At the time, he claimed the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin is a safer alternative for fighting COVID-19.

The claim is in stark contrast to pronouncements by the DOH and even the World Health Organization that there remains no basis to the claim that ivermectin can cure or protect people from COVID-19.

Faculty and staff of UP Medicine's pharmacology and toxicology department have since sought to distance themselves from Quijano's remarks although they did not mention him directly.

In a statement also on Thursday, they said they support "evidence-based approaches" to addressing the pandemic, which includes vaccination.

"Based on our evaluation of the evidence, the benefits of vaccination far outweigh the risks," members said.

Although I never heard it first hand, I heard from friends of some doctors who take IVM prophylactically. I presume that some doctors are scared of falling from this deadly disease & are taking no chances, using anything even though unproven but has a miniscule chance. Goes to prove that doctors are human too.

The side effects are similar to Pfizer as both are mRNA vaccines. Tenderness, slight pain and/or a feeling of tiredness at the vaccine spot or the arm where the vaccine was administered for a day or 2, sometimes chilly feeling or at worst a slight fever/sinat for a day. Its a small price to pay instead of a fever or an oxygen tank for 2 weeks or worse.

from "get jabbed and protect yourself and others", it's now "get jabbed and save yourself from the ravages of the disease".

taking it for oneself is one thing.
prescribing it to others is another thing.

i know of doctors who do things to their bodies,
things they would not dare do to their patients, lest they get sued for malpractice.

For you med practitioners, the fear is real, working on ground zero all the time. My SIL got Covid from her patients 2x already & had 2 children, both drs also who had it too. The daily viral load for you guys is something else too. But, the drs I heard of espouse vax & it is quite unsettling for us had they recommended against it. That happended with Dengvaxia in its early phase of development when the family doctors advised us against it.
