^^^Restaurant owners struggling to get back on their feet will suffer another blow with the government’s decision to ban dine in services again.
highs.
does this mean,
periodic, regular, ECQs and lockdowns are going to be a regular occurence this year and even in the coming year, what with the snail's pace of our vaccination efforts?
Damned if you do
Damned if you don't
Question:
What is the basis in the end of August 20 for the success of this particular lockdown?
How will we know that we passed the probable surge in Delta variant infection?
Since we are not in a surge right now, what would be their basis is for the lock down being considered successful?
looks like governments will keep implementing lockdownsdoes this mean,
periodic, regular, ECQs and lockdowns are going to be a regular occurence this year and even in the coming year,
pero it also depends on citizens' willingness to let their governments keep violating their freedoms
as resistance grows it will be harder for governments to implement going forward
dr. salvanya above (post # 29,407) explained the basis for their recommendation, and the LGUs' apparent basis for their decision(s).
the article mentioned that they meet every two weeks.
i suppose, they will meet again shortly before august 20, to analyze the new data, and decide if it is ok to downgrade the CQ, or to keep it as is.
we are taught in infectious disease class, that relaxing our guard is one way of encouraging surges of infections.
the delta scare will always be with us, until we-as-a-race become immune from it, or when the variant mutates away.

Most of us have probably been vaccinated against Varicella or chickenpox, but it doesn’t mean hindi na tayo magkaka chickenpox. Magkaka-chickenpox pa rin tayo at we can spread it to others pero konti na lang rashes at pinakaimportant is it’ll prevent us from having moderate to severe complications of chickenpox and from death.

that's why there should always be push back, case in point face shields. after this issue was brought up by isko et al i saw a DRAMATIC decrease in number of establishments that wouldn't let me in (coz i never wear fakeshields)
so whenever i see contrarians i don't see them as a-holes, they're actually society's immune system
mali kasi messaging ng US
they made it sound like getting vaccinated will make you unable to spread the virus
kaya ung concept ng vaccine pass -- which tells people "hey i'm vaccinated, i'm safe to be around"
WHICH IS SO WRONG
getting vaccinated only prevents you from getting hospitalized
it doesn't prevent the virus from entering your nose / mouth when you breathe it in
and when you breathe in the virus, it will attach to your ACE2 receptors, enter your cells, and make copies of itself
and you'll exhale the virus and infect others
