Sirs... maka singit lang po... my brother accidentally pour Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) instead of power steering fluid in our Carnival last Sunday... the effect is harder to steer especially with an ON aircon... help please..... TIA

As per our manual ang recommended fluid para sa ating power steering and automatic transmision ay DEXRON II-E or M-3. Just have it drained and replaced with the correct ATF. Better to check din ang fan belt, tensioner and idler bearings.

Carnival owner din ako Carnival LS 2000 model (second hand), first family car namin ito just bought it last July and so far I am really at eased with the car smooth ride always and haven't got problems yet, except for the OEM CD player which is not working at times, iniluluwa nya yung CD ko (di yata type)..

Daming magandang mga tips ang nakukuha ko dito, informative at saka first hand experiences pa. Kudos to the regular posters.

How much did your 2000 LS cost? A friend of mine is being offered a similar model A/T at 375K and she wants to know if its a fair price. I have a 2001 LS M/T myself but I would not part with it for 700K

Regarding your CD player, I have the same problem myself, it does not work anymore. I'm using a FM transmitter connected to my Ipod right now.

Yes, I too have the same problem with my Carnival's OEM CD player. Had it fixed before and its busted again. The player won't play or even read CDs anymore. Is there a way to replace just the OEM CD player? The radio is ok.

I had the same plan before, the problem is the audio unit is an integral one and the CD player can be replaced if you can find one of the same make and model. Another problem if you replace the CD player is that you might not be able to use the steering wheel controls anymore. Maybe other owners found a way around this, seems that our Carnival's player is more suited for smooth Korean roads rather than ours.

Try installing Aux/RCA inputs instead, tapos connect an MP3 player.

Pareho lang ba ang stereo ng 1999 Carnival sa unit mo? Mine kasi until now can't unlock the code (I forgot the pass code already) but everything is working on test mode (2 mins running lang). I'm thinking if you want to buy my CD player or sell me your tuner unit...at least isa man lang sa atin ang makinabang

Di pa rin ayos...I transfered it to another motor shop at Pasig (JBrothers Motor Shop) two days ago. Yesterday I followed-up di pa rin nakukuha trouble... computer scan daw nila today. Tinanong lang ako kung nag-overheat daw kasi basa ang spark plug, which hindi yun nakita ng unang motor shop. I just hope alam nila ginagawa nila...nakakaworry din.

Guys, I think the motor for my automatic door lock (yung sa rear hatch) is busted. When I lock or unlock the doors, I just hear a loud whirring sound coming from the rear, but the lock itself doesn't work. I have to lock and unlock it manually with the key. Kaya kaya ng mga ordinary mechanics na ayusin o palitan ito o magpapa-holdup pa ako sa casa?

Nice to find another gas fed carnival/sedona owner. Baka pareho ng problema nung sa akin. Coolant fluid seeps into the combustion chamber. Malakas ba maubos ang coolant? If so, better have it serviced by Kia. That's a design flaw sa engine.

She also mentioned na basa daw ang spark plug. So I was thinking na dahil nga sa tubig na pumapasok sa combustion chamber from the coolant reservoir.

Regarding your CD player, I have the same problem myself, it does not work anymore. I'm using a FM transmitter connected to my Ipod right now.

Common pala yung problem ng CD player, FM transmitter na nga lang ang pwedeng solusyon o di aux cables connected to an external player.

I got my Carnival LS for 430K...basically heres what I got on the car.
- light brown two tone clean body, no scratches no bumps, clean engine bay, underchassis
- 2.9TDI engine (with the hoodscoop), engine runs smooth, okay ang idle
- almost 30K kms. mileage
- automatic tranny, good shifting, with cruise control
- all power (moonroof, windows, pilot seat, mirrors)
- almost new dunlop lemans RV tires, pati spare.
- alarm, back up sensor
- leather upholstery, OEM pa yata yon, pero good condition, no tears, firm seats.
- superb aircon
- wrap around tint (nadidiliman lang ako sa gabi), parang doble yung tint so ipapauka ko na lang yung darker tint duon sa front side windows at mahirap silipin ang side mirror sa gabi lalo na kung maulan.

Since first car purchase namin ito I can't really say if I got this at a fair price. I was actually looking for a sedan, pero nung makita ng wife ko yung Carnival, nain-lab na... roomy kasi, AC was way good, test drive it comfy at ayaw nang bumaba anak namin... Looks like new, smells like new, so kaya ayun nabili.

... wrap around tint (nadidiliman lang ako sa gabi), parang doble yung tint so ipapauka ko na lang yung darker tint duon sa front side windows at mahirap silipin ang side mirror sa gabi lalo na kung maulan.

forgot to mention nga pala yung auxillary fog lights... yep the first owner had them installed... dagdag pogi points daw.

I recently acquired a 00 Kia Carnival. Maganda naman ung unit. Makinis ang body. Malamig ang aircon. Captain's chairs ang nasa second row. New tires na white side-walls.

Gusto ko sana makakuha ng owner's manual. Wala na kasi ung original. Baka may alam kayo na pwede download or baka may masipag mag-scan. HEHEHE. Salamat mga tol.

Photocopy and binding of a typical owner's manual is around Php500. Book-type na photocopy na iyon (back to back) and cut to the same size as the original.

Thank you sa suggestion master Otep. Baka may mga tsikoteer around the area of makati or marikina na pwedeng magpahiram ng manual just let me know. I got my Carnival for only 360K so mukhang best buy naman. May sira lang ung door handle. Any idea on where I can have it replaced?
