Heloo Uwak18! I'm currently out of the country for a business trip. I hope this is true that Columbian has come to its senses.
I'm so excited about the 2006 Grand Carnival (sedona you mentioned) that hopefully it would be a double surprise for the Filipino market, it was my agent who told me several weeks back that they will introduce first the new sportage but if the Grand Carnival made its way sooner to the managemen's decision, this is a big celebration.
It's like double trouble for the competitors. With their recent success in the recent Cebu Auto show (which was sold out, I heared from a friend), this is a big welcome for the new models and let the consumers decide.
Now its official! KIA Motors Philippines will definitely launch the new KIA Carnival in the Philippines on August 26 & 27 at the Fort Bonifacio Global City. Saw their ads today at the Inquirer. I just dont know the engine of the Carnival they would be selling here. Hope that they would be offering CRDI as it is the "in" thing nowadays.
According to KIA Pasay. They've already seen the Carnival sa meeting nila. And The Carnival and Sportage will be CRDi engines. And sabi nga nila it will be launch on Aug 26 and 27 at the Fort At may car show nga daw sa lahat ng mga Kia owners. They've already invited all Kia Picanto, Sorento, Pride, etc groups to join the event.
Ok! thanks for the latest update. Finally, the long wait is over. And great to hear the news that for diesel versions, CRDI engine is standard. I just wish that the fuel systems for both the sportage and Carnival would follow their Sorento cousin in terms of reliability kahit marumi ang diesel fuel sa atin. Kailangan maka arrange ng test drive sa dealer ko.
Hello Mickey,
Thanks for the support. I will be a regional guy based in singapore. So you can just imagine how big the lifestyle change will be. My trusty old picanto sells at S$34K. While the carnival (2.5V6) is selling at S$65K. Coe included.
My carnival was immediately snapped up by my sister. So presyong kamaganak. The Picanto is being eyed by many but no takers yet.
Masuwerte yung next owner ng carnival dahil nothing to fix. Except for the Bontek cd player na kailangan painitin bago mag read. timing belt, oil pump, ac cleaned, and new tires, etc. are all recently replaced as preventive maintenance at 79K km. Tomorrow I am bringing "Olive" kay zee para wala ng masabi si manang sister ko. Who was also an ex ofw. She really liked the kel seat leather and audiovox dvd player.
I will miss contributing here. Doon nga pala sa singapore luma yung Carnival pa rin yung body!!!! Hindi Sedona!!!!. Tapos dahil right hand drive, walang foot brake. hand brake sa tabi ng driver seat. weirrd.
Sa singapore madaming picanto at getz, altis (still no 1 there). bawal ang CRDI sa paasenger cars. pang commenrcial lang ang diesel. huhuhuhuh. I will miss the launching of the new grand carnival huhuhuhuh
paalis na ako sa monday so good luck to everyone, and drive safely!!!!
rodski
godspeed to you and your family, rodski! at least sa singapore wala sigurong mga barumbadong motorcycle riders.
daan-daan ka lang dito.
hello po mga sir,
wanted to ask, medyo kelangan ko na kasi kumuha ng van for a growing family. anyway, may nakita ako ng 2nd hand 2000 Kia Carnival, mga 17k lang tinakbo kasi yung mayari nasa US naiwan lang sa bahay bihira gamitin. Fresh in/out pa, bekieve it or not, the brandnew smell is still lingering a bit inside the vehicle. naka plastic pa yung mga visors even.
Ngayon lang ako magkakaexperience sa Kia if ever, lahat ng past vehicles ko either toyota, mitsu or honda kasi. it's selling for 450k. is that a good price or too high for it's condition? tnx po!
Pat
tnx sir. d orig price is 468k, tinawaran ko hanggang 450k. that's with financing pa. pag straight cash may bawas pa daw, not sure lang kung magkano pa.
anyway, anything I should watch out for on the carnival? if ever kasi, this will be my 1st Kia. Don't know that much about it medyo rare kasi.
tnx ulit mga sir!
I don't own a Carnival but I do own a Picanto. Carnival is good naman overall. Nasa may ari naman yan at proper maintenance lang. You can browse this thread sa mga reaction and/or see the kia-forums for more help.

Could someone please post the contact number and location of Kia Quezon Avenue? Ito ba yung malapit sa Sto. Domingo church, on the opposite side of Q Ave?

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
Thanks, Otep. I got their number from the Kia Philippines web site. I'll give them a call later.
shauntot, suggest you read this thread. It discusses extensively the good and bad traits of our ride. The suggested website is also an option. But I believe what has been discussed here is more complete. The price of a 2nd hand carnival varies a lot. Bisoy got his ride same year model as yours, local version, at basically the same price range as yours, but at a higher mileage. Leolop got his 2001 model at a final price of below 380K from a bank who foreclosed the unit, but had to spend for some repairs, but its an imported version.
Hi Altec,
How often do we need to replace our fuel filter? Based on the previous owner
record, my Kia Car fuel filter was changed 7K ago. Time to change, right? Btw, do you have update on where can I buy Racor Fuel Filter (is it still your recommended brand?) here in Mla and how much does it cost nowadays?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Jabr,
Yes, I live near South City Homes...
Hinlog, the Kia manual states change fuel filter every 30K. From what I recall from the Casa, they recommend every 20K. Racor fuel filter estimates the need to replace at around 18K. I haven't used racor in any of my vehicles. We use racor in our generator sets though. I don't know if racor fuel filters for cars have been commercialized in the Philippines. Haven't kept in touch with Diesoline, who is supposed to be the distributor. I use Micro brand fuel filters instead, which I found to serve the same purpose. But my Sedona is using original Kia fuel filter. If you read the back pages in this thread, there was a post by Leoncio about two different kinds of Sedona/Carnival filter. They are not interchangeable. When I changed my fuel filter assembly, I ended up installing the older version, kasi walang replacement stock ang newer version.
shauntot, what model is the carnival? rs or ls? there's a lot of differences in terms of comfort features. 17k mileage is pretty good.
if you saw altec's post that i got mine at P380k, that's right but mileage was at 42k, tsaka naka-jackpot talaga ako. good luck!
need to replace my dunlop le mans rv501s, where's the best place to get them? magkano kaya?
