mga sir, inquiry lang, parang napansin ko na mas malamig yung aircon sa rear kesa sa harap, na try kong parehong naka no. 1 lang, tapos umupo ako sa likod, gininaw ako e sa harap oks lang, malamig pero not to the point na ginaw...ganon po ba talaga?
theory ko lang. sa carnival kasi namin almost always ako ang nagmamaneho, and like you guys, reklamo lagi sa lamigang passengers ko sa likod kapag bukas ang rear a/c. i only understood their complaint nung ako naman ang naupo sa likod. hehehe..

the check engine indicator light will not come off in your instrument panel if indeed your ECU has a problem.

    umiilaw nga ba?

and how did you jump start the battery when it died while you where in market market?

    batt 1 batt2

    ganito ba?

    keep us posted.

Thanks lot benchph1 for a swift reply.

Hindi umiilaw ang "check engine light indicator" when engine is running.

Actually, the battery was replaced with another one, as in tinangal nung taxi driver yung battery ng taxi nya at pinalit sa battery ko...sabi ko nga sa kanya "bihira na ang katulad mo that will offer the same assistance on the road"

You seems right about the solenoid...actually suspected ko nga yun eh, di ko lang alam paano macheck. Before kasi whenever I clean my air intake filter and disconnect the rubber exhaust pipe going to this "mixing valve" ba? then nalalaro ko minsan yung part na gumagalaw when you step on Accelerator, I notice some gas coming-in. Now, it's dry talaga, as in walang pumapasok. Any idea how to check these solenoid valves? (I'm seeing two pieces connected)

    Thanks again...

Humn, gas engine kasi yung sa akin kaya wala injectors. The rubber pipe is about 3 inches diameter, connected to gas manifold intake, pinaka-carburador.

Mas malamig talaga yung aircon ng Carnival sa likod kaysa sa harap. I also just switch off the rear blower when it gets too cold for the passengers in the rear.

The rear heater control for my Sedona is located on the dash, on the right side of the radio. It's marked "RR HTR." I think the rear blower has to be on for the heater to work.

I remember turning it on by accident once, and my wife and I both started wondering why it became hot in the van even if the aircon was on

    shauntot,

Huwag mo na akong i-sir, hindi pa ako senior citizen

For what it's worth, we don't use the heater either. Nagbabaon na lang ng jacket at kumot yung mga anak ko kung bumabiyahe kami ng malayo.

    Witch,
The same thing happened to me a few months ago. My carnival is diesel though. The engine would crank or turn but not start. We actually drained the battery trying to start the Carnival. I had to bring in a mechanic who noticed that diesel fuel was not getting into the engine. The fuel pump was ok and there was nothing wrong with the fuel line. Check the fuse that protects the solenoid. I had a busted fuse (pesos 30). Not sure if the gasoline engine is similar but my diesel Carnival has two fuse boxes (one in the engine bay and other inside the van near the foot brake pedal). The fuse for the ECU is in the fuse box inside the van.

After this episode, I suggest you check the alternator as it may need replacement. This is expensive. I replaced mine with a brand new alternator (ouch!). You may also want to check the starter as the contacts may be worn out. I suspect that the problems your van has are mostly electrical. If you live in QC, I would recommend the Rey Villa electrical shop in Cubao (along 20th Avenue?) or Wizzard Electrical along Tomas Morato. I hope this helps.

Can anyone tell me where to buy a TDC Sensor for my Kia Carnival Park II? I started a separate thread yesterday about the problem I have with my car after the engine got flooded last month and my new mechanic says it is this sensor that needs to be replaced.

    http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32525

KIA Pasay doesn't have it. Good Gear Pasay thinks they will have one by the end of the month but no price yet.

Can you recommend a shop(s) where it may be available?

Thanks a lot for your kind help.

hmmm, may relation ba ang steering with the aircon system? wouldn't the simple remedy be that you have the power steering drained and refilled?

malayo ba ang viscosity and other properties nung atf and steering fluid? i just remember that when i had PS fluid changed on another car, they used brake fluid and i was told it was ok.

forgive the ignorance, but what's a TDC sensor? is it a regular part or an add-on?

just came back from an out of town trip. ok talaga ang j3 engine, yakang-yaka makipag sabayan at unahan.

What is the recommended power steering for a Carnival? Do check your owner's manual.

On most vehicles, the recommended fluid for the power steering IS ATF. Just check the exact Dexron rating or requirement.

Yes, I too have the same problem with my Carnival's OEM CD player. Had it fixed before and its busted again. The player won't play or even read CDs anymore. Is there a way to replace just the OEM CD player? The radio is ok.

ecport, have you tried resetting it?

if it really needs repairing, try to bring the unit to philsales at banaue. afaik, it is also possible to replace just the cd player as it is only a module behind the fascia of the headunit's faceplate. sourcing it might be a tall order though.
