Thanks Altec! Will try it immediately. Paano gagawin doon sa baking soda?
Thanks Altec! Will try it immediately. Paano gagawin doon sa baking soda?
hi altec!
funny you mentioned that steering thing, i also noticed that on my carnival. when you turn the steering wheel, (pag umaandar), parang lumalaban ng konti yung manibela, hirap explain dito, pero for example, you're turning left, so kinabig mo na di ba? tapos while you're turning, parang may konting play to the right yung manibela, but since you're holding it to the left, parang kumokontra siya ng konti. so parang off-on-off-on yung dating. sorry kung medyo malabo yung pagkapaliwanag ko, hirap pag hndi actual e. anyway, is that what you're experiencing as well sir?
C190, is the unit you're referring to a white one found in one of the pasig car exchanges? if so, you better check for collision damage on the van.
bro thanks sa info![]()

Pwede iyan if you use the right hose. There is some noise but that is just turbulence inside the system and not accumulated pressure. If you are losing assist, your hose shop probably fabbed up the wrong hose.FYI din mga guys, hindi pala natin puedeng palitan ng after market/replacement hydraulic hoses ang power steering system ng mga rides natin. Ang result nagkakaroon ng grinding noises (krrrrggg!!!) sa power steering system due to accumulated pressure inside the hoses.

C190: Thanks. Will do, can't stand the stench pre eh.
OTEP: Siguro nga ano? Baka incorrect diameters lang ang naikabit kaya nagkaroon ng pressure. Kasi sila rin ang gumawa ng lireace ko and no problems so far after two years.
Fixed the steering problem na. The mechanic lubricated the rack end of the rack and pinion, sabi daw niya yung dulo ng steering column that connects to turn the wheels left and right. He used typical engine oil to clean that part, turn the steering left and right, clean out any dirt that comes out, and wash again with oil. Ayos! He did see something else. My shock absorber mounting has cracks. But he didn't change or touch it. I asked what would be the effect. If really worn, it creates the rattle that we observe in rack and pinion systems (baka ito yung problema sa corolla ko before!!). I also said I have long complained with Kia of a certain knocking sound that is not consistent, but occasionally comes out when I turn either left or right, whether running or stationary. He said it could be caused by this. Pinapacanvass ko pa kung magkano. Will have it changed and let you know. Excited tuloy ako, this knock has been irritating me for over a year.
sir altec, thanks for the info. now i at least i know what to ask my mechanic to check in case he can't find the cause. thanks!
Altec:
My shocks are also both ready for replacements. Ang price ng oem carnival front shocks sa fronte and goodgear is 3,400/piece as compared to 5k+ sa casa. Another option ko is to have it injected sa cruven like what i did sa right front shock ko last august. Now its the left front shock naman ang bumigay. Paestimate ko na lang uli sa cruven kung ano-ano pa ang kailangang palitan kasi ramdam na yung kalye eh.
shauntot, yung sa akin, when you turn the steering wheel, hindi consistent yung lambot ng power steering niya. As you continue turning, malambot, then titigas, then malambot, then titigas. When I tried the car today, wala na while driving. Pero meron pa when stationary. Its supposed to be malambot all the day, consistent dapat, whether turning left or right. Will observe the next few days again.
Hello po mga sir! This is my first time to post here in the forum, but has been actively surfing with the site for quite some time now. I just purchased a kia carnival 2001 model with 46thousand kilometers on it. It has a 2.9 tdic engine, m/t and runs 10-11 kms per liter, city driving. The suspension was OK! And I really had fun driving it!!!!. It just so happened that after a week of using the van the engine broke down. Sad to say I am currently having my engine overhauled. Boy the parts are very challenging to find and oftentimes more expensive compared to other brands. I had the timing belt, fan belt, cylinder head gasket, oil fiter, fuel filter, valve seal, release bearing and clutch disk replaced and all of them cost me a lot already. darn!!!
I also found out that the previous owner lived near the coastal area cause many of the underchassis parts are already on coated with iron oxide (kalawang). Which i really wasn't able to see when I puchased the car cause it was freshly soaked in undercoat.
I would like to seek for your help where i could find a nossel tip. Aside from the usual CASA. Cause after having it calibrated they also found out that one of the nossel tips is already busted. If there is anybody there who had this done already with their carnival help me out please.![]()
Things I've learned more in purchasing a car:
1. Know where the car came from, especially from coastal areas.
2. Make sure to bring your mechanic to check the engine.
3. And carefully inspect the "pang-ilalim" of your car.
**learned it the hard way** ![]()

One thing though, even having this happened to me, Kia Carnival is still GREAT!![]()

civic ef hatch: Try Fronte at Kabignayan cr Banawe St., see if they have the nozzle tips you need.
try to inquire Central Diesel Clinic * 4113711. They can service your injectors. they will possibly provide and install the nozzle tips themselves. i highly recommend this shop for fuel injection issues.
why so?
CDC saved me a lot of moolah by rebuilding and cleaning my crdi injectors. look for jake arellano.
diesoline,
Where is Central Diesel Clinic located? I just want to file their address for future reference. Thanks.
Central Diesel is along Quezon Avenue, just beside Capitol Medical Center. I think you can PM dieseldude as he works in the said facility.![]()

otep is right, CDC is just on the corner next to capitol medical. you won't miss the big rigs parked infront. afaik jake himself is dieseldude.
Thanks for the info, Otep and diesoline.
Okay pa naman takbo ng Sedona ko after 150,000 km, pero for future reference, how will I know if my injectors need cleaning or recalibration already?
if you notice a drop in performance, i guess. at 150,000 km, recalibration might be in the horizon. altec, help out with this one!
the servicing of my injectors was just incidental to the timing belt repair. amianan reported error codes in their scanner after the timing belt replacement. the computer indicated that one injector was kaput and one was marginal in performance. amianan advised me to replace the injectors. with crdi injectors costing P15200 at goodgear, i phoned CDC for help with the injectors. the rebuild for one injector cost P3000.00 and the diagnosis and ultrasonic cleaning of the others cost P500 each. HAPPY!
