last saturday, nagpa-gas ako sa seaoil. di ko pa nalagyan ng biodiesel, napilitan akong itakbo sa maynila. at one point i got stuck in traffic because of hundred car funeral procession.
naka-amoy ako ng maasim at nakakahilong amoy coming from the airconditioner. it was a new smell, and after a while i thought it might be because i hadn't put biodiesel in yet. tama ba ako? pero di ba dapat di naamoy ang exhaust throught the aircon?
anyway after getting it up to bd10 again, the smell went away. i don't know kung coincidence lang.
jordan, malas naman, but oh well. don't focus on that, get a new one when you can. and congratulations on your new ride! search the threads for car alarms and keyless entry. maraming suggestion dun.
gats, congrats (rhyme intended) also on your new ride! there's a lot to love with our great car as you will discover.
for a rare moment, napunta ako sa rear seat and meron palang pop out hooks beside the aircon vents. naks talaga. kakainggit din pala sa likod ang mga cup holders.
re car seat cover, i see the getting to be common but still attractive beige leatherette covers sa mga starex and revos. parang bagay para sa carnival. i checked the car seat cover thread and araw-araw ko pala nadadaanan yung seat mate papuntang makati from san juan. yung kay boy chingcuangco nadadaanan ko rin sa cubao. ganda ng billboard niya sa harap ng shop, kala ko tunay na leather seats. pagmagkadatung...

November 20th, 2005 11:35 PM #814leolop, smell from your aircon vents should not change regardless if you use BD or not, assuming the vents are closed, or in recirculation mode. And even in fresh mode, meaning it allows air from outside in, nothing from your engine compartment should enter through the aircon. If vents are open (fresh mode) you will smell smoke belching car's smoke in front of you entering your vents, not your own.
Regarding beige seat covers, we had those in some of the 2nd hand hilanders that our company bought. Pangit pag naging luma, maganda siguro kung bago. My sedona has leather seat covers. What I noticed is that the seams mabilis masira. Had it fixed several times. Eventually, the supplier said masisira maski palitan kasi unlike the typical car, the seating position of our cars are more inside than the typical sedan, thus requiring our butts so twist everytime we get in/out more often. But black looks good when new, and looks ok even when it is old. My opinion lang. Just don't get leather seat covers with those buttons. Doon magstart yung crack on old leathers.

November 21st, 2005 07:16 AM #815hi, thanks for the replies. i also got leather seats from boy chi.... (?) before for my corolla. maganda gawa nya, pero mahal. but to the end, super perfect pa yun leather seats ko. was thinking lang baka may cheaper alternative
just a few more questions :
1. where can i buy a mirror for the back? (so you can see the bumper)
2. same as jordan, where to have an alarm installed?
3. i read thru this thread and understood like only half of it. especially the car problems. hehe. was wondering if there's a shop i can bring the sedona to to have the intake manifold cleaned or something. have no plans of doing it myself. hehehe.
thanks!

You can try buying your seat covers from Seatmate interiors. I can't remember the street but it's near Mandaluyong circle/nuwebe de pebrero (you can ask the tricycle drivers. I had my seat covers (7 seats ha, hindi yung auv style) made there, leather and cloth combination para di masyadong mainit pag nag-park sa arawan and it cost me 7.5k nung 2002. Ang tibay, the only tear it has is on the driver's seat and it occured when my pocket knife got snagged while alighting.
They also sell the back mirror (kabit sa spoiler) for 1.5k, kasama na ang pag body paint. I personally endorse the place since the proprietor is also drives a Kia Carnival. Marami pa siyang pwedeng ikabit provided you have the budget. Maybe he can also do the alarm or recommend someone else.

November 21st, 2005 01:11 PM #817thanks salonika!
i inquired rin sa seiring, meron dun back mirror for 1.8k, no installation. i read kasi the thread about back mirrors, mga 500 lang, so i was expecting ganun lang price. hehehe. hindi po ba different daw ang carnival sa sedona in that may alloted screw holes talaga ang carnival?
hmmm, sige will look for that seatmate interiors. pwede pala combination. better nga yun. thanks!

November 21st, 2005 01:50 PM #818Hi, just discovered this forum yesterday, and enjoyed reading all the exchanges.Basically reinforced my decision to stick to Kia. Just wondering if any of you know anyone interested in a carnival 1998 2.5LV6 (2nd owner- 49Kilometers). Need to dispose so I can pursue a diesel version or even the CRDi version (possibly gray market though- unless someone advises otherwise). Private email na lang if there's anyone out there. Thanks.

Got over the loss of the center cap.... my cousin who also owns a Carnival gave me 2 center caps...bungi-bungi nga lang ung pangkapit, anyway, I was thankful since I was able to replace it. Hope it won't fall-off again
For the first trip with the family, we went to Tagaytay this weekend... really surprised on how smooth the ride was, that with my preggy sis-in-law sitting at the back. Seems just like driving a sedan.
And boy... was it cold that day or what!!!! We had lunch at Leslie's and the bulalo keeps on getting cold at nagsesebo agad in just about 2-3 minutes.....
Next will be a stop at a casa (Kia Marikina or Wheels) for its first check-up:change oil, etc...
