i had the aircon serviced para mas malamig at syempre pang maintenance coz its been a yr since last na clean ito. pina flush ko na rin ang system. i spent around 3k. is this expensive? they replaced the drier but only flushed the expansion valve. wala kasi makitang expansion valve dito and hindi pa naman daw barado kaya ok lang daw.true?

i also had the strut bushing replaced. ito daw yung maingay. cost me P500 lang for the 4. may konting play sa left rack end ko. but since city driving lang daw, pwede pa daw ito. tatagal pa daw. true?

my windshield drips a little water pag umuulan. may alam akong bagong DIY.... they used a black silicon sealant yung pang gamit when u open an engine up!

i installed a turbo timer na and so far, good buy talaga tong surplus unit. cost me only P1,500 tapos japan made pa. i think FET 202 ito.

i plan to upgrade the horn. medyo bakla pakinggan..... i want a more manly sound :D syempre lagyan ng relay para buo ang tunog!

i also plan to upgrade my headlight wattage. hindi naman hi tech... yung tipong 100/90 watts lang. accdg to my friedn who owns the shop, i need to buy a wiring kit with relays for this. pwede daw i-DIY ito. everything is there sa kit. has anyone tried this? coz another friend said that kung 100/90 lang, di na daw kailangan ng wiring kit. true?

i also had brakets made sa rear seats (yung magkabilaan) coz somehow, nawala at langit yung hindi naka dikit sa sidings ang sandalan. so far, ayos naman

so far, eto pa lang ang nagagawa ko sa carnival ko. future plan is put a more decent sound system, change tint (nag start na mag blue color kasi) and probably a roof carrier. anyone has installed a roof carrier?

    thanks for reading

mikey177, you have a valid point po, kaya I also planned to install signal lights sa side. (just before the front door, or where the "145hp" sticker is placed on CRDI models). kasi mas visible ito even dun sa mga nasa tabi mo na (like motorcycles etc)

    question lang mga bro:
may accelerator cable pa ba ang sedona or computer controlled na yung diesel pump?

yung battery ko kasi mejo sub-standard, 13 plates lang and ever since I changed to that unknown brand, I noticed na pag-naka idle ako ng matagal (traffic etc), humihina na yung busina.
and with that, na-notice ko din na mahina yung hatak. para bang kahit ifloor mo na, di tumataas ng mabilis yung rpm, slowly lang syang tumataas. pero pagmalakas yung charge nung battery(hihgway drives), maganda din yung response nya. any ideas po? TIA.

sabi sa "rey auto electrical shop", ok naman daw yung karga ng alternator.
might post a thread sa electrical section nitong site to ask our autoelectrical experts.

Ericmm, siguro this weekend ako bibili. Txt ko bukas (saturday) si Baiskee for price. I need it to be replace this weekend because we are going out of town next weekend. Gaano ba katagal ang pag-palit ng tires? At wheel balancing?

    Hello Guys,

Yesterday, While driving to a customer in Calamba I experience a loss of power in my Carnival. We were 4 engineers and the engine RPM and engine sound was normal but the speed is lower than expected.

My initial suspicion points to the Clutch slippage. Funny I only experience this after paying the toll at silang pag arangkada ko parang mabagal ang speed vs engine RPM.

So I went to signet Las Pinas and have them check my car. They said it could be the injector pump. What!!!!! I have been filling up my diesel at Shell at CAA road las pinas.
Engine is smooth no smoke. So how come engine RPM is not responding to vehicle speed. Mayroon bang ganoon na effect pag mahina ang fuel supplied by the fuel pump? Anybody here experience this problem? My Carnival is a nov 2001 manual tranny. 68K kms na ang mileage. Madalas sa City driving lang siya and i has its share of long drives to tagaytay, baguio, bataan, zambales, bicol. So well balanced ang gamit niya.

This is my first diesel car so I'm not new with this fuel pump problem affecting driveabilty. My experience tells me that the clutch is slipping. Whats your take on this problem?

    tnx

    Rodski

I got a response from Baiskee and its 3100 daw. Sandali lang naman magpalit and balance.

Clutch slippage if when you push hard on the gas, the engine howls like you are clutch riding it, but doesn't have the same effect if you press gently on the gas.

I find it funny if they say the pump is suspect because if there is something wrong with the pump, the loss of power will be accompanies with an increase in smoke belching. Maybe your air filter got clogged? Or your fuel filter? Anyway, our fuel filter has a sedimentor. Try bleeding it first.

Or you may be experiencing what happened to me (search it here several pages back). I had a rrrr sound that sounded like a bearing, which Kia diagnosed as fuel knock and they recommended to open up the pump. Eventually, I confirmed it to be fuel knock and pinpointed it to substandard petron diesel fuel. I previously tried our fuel/oil additive which has worked wonders with clogged injectors on our truck, but didn't work, that's why I had doubts if the injection pump was really clogged.

I had my strut bushing replaced under warranty but the noise is still there. I've heard the same noise from my 90 corolla and nissan urvan, don't know if ano talaga siya.

i plan to upgrade the horn. medyo bakla pakinggan..... i want a more manly sound :D syempre lagyan ng relay para buo ang tunog!

I installed the black bosch horns. Mas macho yung silver, pero mahaal!! Mas masakit sa tenga yung hella na red, pero mas type ko yung deep solid sound, mas bagay sa sedona/carnival.

Mine has wiring kit. H7 ang headlight bulbs ng sedona, I don't know with the carnival. Better to install wiring kits because it helps your alternator na hindi masyado mahirapan. Especially with mine I changed all 4 headlight bulbs to 100watts.

so far, eto pa lang ang nagagawa ko sa carnival ko. future plan is put a more decent sound system, change tint (nag start na mag blue color kasi) and probably a roof carrier. anyone has installed a roof carrier?

Nope, OEM yung roof racks ko. Regarding tints, if you like to have the front full tinted, there are some tints that can be one piece in the front. If the shade you want has to be yung may hiwa, suggest yung hiwa nasa lower, not the typical na upper visor cut. Mas di distracting. Sound system, I mentioned my setup several pages back, but that's for the sedona. But should be the same with the carnival series.

    thanks for reading
    Hope I've helped.

Yes that already happened to me and my Starex. After I had it carbon cleaned, the guys at betan did not fasten the intake manifold hose tightly (hose after intercooler going to the throttle body) so air pressure was leaking. If there isn't enough air compression that's the symptom - mabagal ang speed vs. engine rpm. Then out of my frustration kasi mabagal yung speed vs. rpm. hinataw ko sa C5, I heard a loud BLOP sound - natanggal yung hose right after the intercooler - cause: not tightly fastened. So I put it back tight, tightened the hose clamps, then hataw na naman.

Check mo na lang if your hoses are all intact - no cracks, no leaks, tightly fastened hose clamps.

rodski, sorry to hear about that problem. all i can say is that it must be frustrating to go to the casa and not get a credible answer. they're supposed to be the experts and they certainly charge accordingly. .

i used to have rpm problems with my toyota corolla, and i think i know enough that if the rpm is going up and there's no reciprocal response in movement, then the problem is probably not about the fuel going into engine. jaeger's post sounds more plausible. hope you're able to find solution.

news on my Carnival is that the white smoke or any visible smoke has disappeared while idling. of course i can't say the same for when i'm running but i certainly don't see any on the mirror. this is great since i've brought down the bd mix to 10%. just another 30 liters more and i'll go to 5%. matagal pa nga lang kasi my daily route is just 9 km and ang tipid ng Carnival.

and i'm getting my P42k refund from the bank on monday, heehee.

guys, one more thing. my front bumper needs a new paint job. KIA QA quoted P2,500 and Wheels quoted P3,000. kailangan ko pa bang magtanong pa ba sa iba? or is the Kia QA price good enough?

I installed a 5 channel alpine amplifier located under the driver seat, plus 8 inch kicker sub placed in a box transferrable either placed at the rear, or placed in between the driver and front passenger seat. But in your case, because you have rear bench type like the auv- revo, adventure, pwede na sa rear. The existing speakers can handle the extra power from the amplifier. Thus, the speakers and HU are OEM. Yung sa sedona kasi, front speakers are 6 inches plus separate tweeters at the top of the dashboard, and 6x9 speakers for the rear. I wanted to install my extra jbl speakers with separate tweeters na tinanggal ko from my pajero, but the accessory shop suki ko said to install it means we have to cut a hole on the side of the interior and he says as much as possible, ayaw niya magbutas.

hindi na ako makahabol sa discussions. ang bibilis niyo! hehehe..

natutuklap ang top coat ng hood scoop ng carnival namin. me naka-experience na ba sa inyo nito? engine heat probably is the cause. being diesel and turbocharged pa.

as far as i can remember, 2800 ang bili ko sa dunlop rv501's ko sa princess tire supply in evangelista bangkal makati. free tire balancing. last january pa yun. nagtaas na ang presyo ng gulong.

another thing, H4 lang ang headlights ng carnival.

seiring -- placed an indent order for a crdi fuel filter to a certain jun there more than a year ago. he whipped out his camera and took several photos of the filter in my engine bay. he got my contact numbers and told me that he will get in touch with me after they have gotten the price for the part. i followed him up many times over three months. nada. i haven't heard from them since. didn't go back there again either.

leolop:: Is the price quoted by Kia Quezon Ave for painting the whole front bumper only, without any dent repairs? I am also thinking about getting my front bumper repainted, as it has gotten into a few scrapes with tricycles and big rocks and such. And sorry, I wouldn't know if the price they quoted is reasonable, as I've never had a whole bumper repainted before.

benchph1:: Sa 2002 Sedona, H7 na yung gamit na headlight bulb.

bisoy::This is the explanation I found on the Osram web site about headlight bulbs:

Car models differ in the kind of lamp sockets they use. When you’ve found your lamp type, you have to determine the suitable lamp category for the sockets used in your car (e.g.: H1, H3, H4 or H7 depending on car model).
This is how an H4 looks:

While this is an H7, which has two connectors at the base instead of three. It is also smaller than the H4:

h4 is the most common type, AFAIK. Most probably kung single lens ang kotse mo, same frame kung low and high beam, h4 ang gamit. h7 like in the sedona, the high beam is separate reflectors than the low beam, therefore the filament in the h7 is single only, while h4 bulbs if you look closely, has 2 filaments. For example, pag high beam mo, pundido, pero kung low beam, meron, check out your bulb, putol na ang isang filament.
