mang mario told me that the one of microfilter's functions in the carnival's a/c system is to prolong the life of the evaporator. during the course of normal operation the evaporator accumulates dust which, if particularly heavy, shortens the evaporator's lifespan. it is not advisable to open the pull out the evaporator frequently just to clean it because "mabubugbog lang ang dashboard" according to mang mario.

May 27th, 2005 02:24 PM #282diesoline, was able to open the cover, press up lang pala yung dalawang plastic strip located at the bottom, below the 3 circular things. When opened, WALANG microfilter, the space was empty. I can see the blower inside pa nga eh. Your unit is the common rail model di ba, so I would assume gray unit. Yung akin, local unit, wala nga talagang filter yung slot na yun.

Guys, I found this article while browsing through the Net, just thought you'd like to know. Buti na lang 2002 model yung sa akin
Siguro dapat din natin itanong sa local dealers natin kung apektado yung units natin.

Kia Motors recalls 37,358 minivans
Detroit News staff, wire and Bloomberg News reports
WASHINGTON -- Kia Motors America, Inc., is recalling more than 37,000 minivans because of potential damage to a rear wheel bearing that could cause a crash, the company said Wednesday. Kia said a defect might exist on 37,358 Kia Sedona minivans from the 2003-2005 model years equipped with alloy wheels. Company engineers found that moisture can accumulate around the small steel cap that seals the rear hub and bearing assembly on alloy wheels, leading to damage to the wheel bearing. The company said the damage can occur without warning and cause a crash. The company is unaware of any accidents caused by the defect.

e_chen,
experienced that myself. during that time my brake pads were due for replacement. causing the brake fluid level to run low. i don't know the reason behind this, but when i replaced my brake pads the brake fluid level returned to normal and the warning light dissappeared.
guys,
bat ang bilis maupod ang brake pads ng carnival/sedona? wala pang 2 years ung sakin palit na agad. hindi naman daliy driven ung samin. matagal ng 3 days. pero kung gamitin naman kasi malalayo ang biyahe.

thanks dacotyan/benchph1. will check the brake fluid and i'm also considering changing the brake pad since in the morning, makapit masyado ang pag-stop then maingay din.

thanks diesoline. i guess that's a justifiable reason. no complaints on the braking power naman. it even has a reserve vacuum tank to backup those huge twin piston calipers. i have also noticed that the sedona and the carnival have different brake pads. the carnival uses the same pads as the pregio 3.0, while the sedona has a new design.

Hey guys, my Sedona just underwent a smoke emission test, and I passed with an average rating of 0.46 K. Is that high or low? Note that I haven't had a muffler wash in over a year and all I do for maintenance is the regular PMS. Heck, I can't even find a place in the province that sells biodiesel

kia dealers replaced the J3 diesel engine with the 2.5 gasoline v6 because of its perrenial smoke belching problem. it must be something with our dirty diesel fuel. i just comply with the emission tests by cleaning my exhaust pipes and loading biodiesel the day before i register the carnival.
