Mine says 32 PSI for the 215/70R15 size tires.

just came from kia QA also earlier. damn, i got so pissed when they took so long. the scope of work was:

    1. change fuel filter
    2. wheel balancing and rotation
    3. change brake pads
    4. replace a/c aircon microfilter (ang LAKAS ng a/c ngayon, sarap!)
    5. replace bulb of tail gate lamp (out of stock ang bulb)

i came at 9 am and asked them if they could be done by 11am and the service manager and i settled at 11:30. Natapos 2:00 PM at umuwi na yung service manager without even talking to me. missed an appointment in makati. hay nakhu, mga casa talaga. should've managed my own expectations. gonna try wheels next time.

don't remember who it was who kindly reminded me here to ask the them how to get the stencil of engine number. i did and ang sagot sa akin, dalhin ko ng umaga para makuha ko ng hapon, kakalasin daw ang mga piyesa sa makina para maabot yung engine number at bayad daw P500.00.

    1. guys, meron bang ibang paraan to get that stencil ng engine number?? the way it was described is similar to getting to the intake manifold, kaya ba ng non-mechanic like me?

    2. re brake pads, i bought mine from fronte for P750. it seemed awfully sensible since diesoline said he got his from them and this guy travels a lot from baguio to manila weekly. pero on hindsight, medyo kinabahan ako dahil ang layo sa quote ng kia for orig at P1,960, ang balita sa thread ay pareho lang na mabilis mapudpud, ano experience nyo?

if you can afford an audiovox which is installed on the ceiling, so much the better. but if you're in a budget fix like me, you can go for the nextbase portable. it comes with a leatherette case with straps that can be attached on the sun visors or on the headrests. my carnival comes with a jump seat between the passenger and driver seats so we installed it there.

ang maganada sa nextbase, you can take it with you. kaya habang nag-iinit ulo ko sa kakahintay sa lounge ng kia QA, nanonood ako ng the bourne supremacy at gladiator, hehe.

    1. Napakadali lang kalasin yong intake manifold. I think you can do it by yourself.

    2. Yung orig na brake pads at replacement, I think madaling mapudpud. If you can find a Carbon Metal break pad mas ma ganda. (see pic)

    3. As for the TV, what do you think about installing 10" ceiling mount TV. Kaya lang ma-oobstract na yung rear view. (see pic)

DacoTyan:: Thanks for the info on the tire pressure. I'm currently using 34 psi with my Dunlops.

Leolop:: I was the one who suggested asking about the engine number stencil procedure. Lensio is right, it can be a D-I-Y thing, but the first time you attempt it, it would be better if you ask someone who has done it before so you don't get lost. Also, this is best done when the engine is cold, since you're going to be reaching into the bowels of a very confined space to get that engine number.

Will try to post pics if I get home early from my wife's rounds today.

bisoy, ok naman, i adapted a new scheme of oil change...it will be based on liters of fuel consumed (600L-700L) or kilometer reading whichever comes first hehe. will just use the usual 15-40 Mobil, pero bka next time mobil delvac1 naman.
before, i have the oil changed at > 5000, minsan pa nga 10000. (kasi yung MB100 is 10000 according sa manual). pero now ill make sure it gets the regular oil change.

    update lang:
sabi nung mechanic ko, yung ipinalit daw na oil chain is the new one, phase out na daw yung dati. pero kais i remmeber na oil pump assmbly yung pinalitan. kaya baka di pwedeng chain lang or not sure if makakabili ng chain lang.

    request to the sedona owners:
sirs, kung may time po kayo, papost naman po nung pix nung fuse/relay box nyo. kasi di ka maintindihan yung mga nakasulat dun sa fuse box diagram (korean kasi), di ko tuloy malaman kung alin yung fuse ng headlight etc etc.
    bali, there is
    1) on the engine and 2) sa side ng pedals.
minsan na kasing nagloko yung highbeam ko and I unplugged and replugged the fuses one by one, ayun gumana. pero di ko na ma-remember alin
see pix. anyway, thanks in advance.

    happy motoring!

    Trendy08,

Just click on the links to load the photos of the relay and fuse boxes.

Thanks, i'd really appreciate the pics! the procedure from the early part of the thread says:

    1. remove that air filter intake (two screws and a clamp)
    2. remove intercooler assembly. four screws para sa black plastic cover and 4 screws para sa intercooler itself. and two clamps for the hoses.
    3. remove the intake manifold adapter (4 screws) round to square yung shape and two wires.

it sounds so simple that i'm willing to go for it. double purpose, get that engine number and clean the manifold.

re smoke of my carnival. i still haven't gotten an emission test so i can't be very scientific about this aside from just plain observations. i've replaced oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, have gone through about 60 liters of bd20, muffler wash and went through a run through SLEX occassionaly keeping the rpm at 3k for several kms.

when the unit is idling, there's still quite a bit of white-gray smoke coming out, more so if it's revved up. it's a far cry compared to the "billowing black smoke" when i started out 2 weeks ago, but is this normal? i was expecting better results since i'm on 20% biodiesel, or is the first 60 liters just too soon to be expecting too much?

pwede bang magtanong re the use of biodiesel? i am no longer based in manila so di ko naabutan yung mga biodiesel from seaoil and other oil companies. how do u guys gas up? magkano naman ito?

last week, i saw a store the sells biodiesel daw. maker is senbel or something. you are supposed to buy per liter. yung packaging niya is parang buying a liter of oil. cost of biodiesel is P150/L. this is derived from vegetable oil daw kaya malinis at medyo mahal sya. so when we say mag 2% mix ako, ill mix a liter of this to every 60L or fulltank ko? ganun ba ginagawa nyo? or may gas station na premix na sya? pls enlighten me. thanks

    Hi All - a newbie here who also owns a kia carnival import i bought june 2002. i am glad i joined and i am starting to learn a lot from you guys. i have a few questions;

Leolop - does bio-diesel really help performance and smoke emission of kia? Planning to use it as well but i can't seem to find the nearest gas station where i can get it. My area is in Libis, QC

Lensio - does the change in filter help in performance or in anyway?

    mikey177 and lensio,
thanks. the labels and pix are great!
malaking tulong ito in case of electrical problems.
sir mukhang 80A yung main fuse ko (top most fuse). looking at the pix from mikey177, mukha namang the same yung sa relay box.
yung sa fuse box (beside the parking brake), medjo may slight differences sa list vs pix pero ok na ito. just have to check it later which is which.
    example:
    1 - W/SHD or Front headlight
21 - Airbag or reverse light

I actually have i slight problem kaya nagreresearch ako sa mga labels nyan. yung glow plug indicator ko kasi nag-bliblink after starting, only happens when engine is started from a cold temperature. once na uminit na kahit konti, when you restart, normal na.
Casa used a Scanpro devise, wla naman daw trouble code. most likely daw relay, pero they can't diagnose daw kasi korean yung labels ko. (galing mag excuse, they should have a diagram somwhere diba???)
sabi naman sa electrical shop near our place, bka daw sensor or one of the glow plugs is faulty. but I think its not the glowplugs kasi one click naman sa umaga. might be the sensor or relay...im still figuring it out. I believe yung relay box nung sa glow plug is on another small box beside the relay box na i have posted.
pero i have no way to test, I only have two chances everyday. pag morning lang and everning. Kasi you'll need at least 7-8 hours to fully cool down the engine.

ericmm, welcome sir. any seaoil outlet sir dapat meron sila nung bd, small bottle lang yung nakita ko last time. di ko kasbisado kung saan mayroon sa libis. nearest I can think of is sa p.tuazon cor edsa, cubao.

naalala ko, yung brochure nung carnival II park na nakuha ko, may TV monitor sa dash (where the radio is), tapos may pulldown tv pa (just like the one you posted). and there is a feature na may camera sa tailgate. you can actually watch back sa monitor as you reverse. i think yung "all options" na model, meron nito. scan/pix ko yung brochure and post it.

Trendy08 - thanks. Actually yung na mention mo na park II kay Lensio is the one i have. The main radio is indeed a tv (built in tuner) as well and it comes with a 8 disc cd/vcd changer. The changer has an rca input for external player pero ayaw magwork - maganda sana dvd na yung panonoorin mo.
You can easily watch pero once you are moving the screen turns black and switches back on to the tv when you stop. There is also a pull down tv at the center and yes there is reverse camera that appears both on the main radio and on the pull down tv screen. Ang hirap lang sa may reverse camera is that masasanay ka masyado kaya pag-nagpalit ka ng kotse sa radio ka titingin.

Radials always look that even when the tire is at right pressure unless your using low-profile tires.

Di nga lang leather seats and sidings.

Any suggestions where i can get good new set of tires?

leolop:: Could the white-grey smoke from your unit be due to moisture? Does the white smoke disappear after the vehicle has been running for several minutes.

Yung sa akin kasi may kaunting white smoke pag cold start sa umaga, kasi walang bubong yung garahe namin kaya nahahamugan yung sasakyan. However, once everything has heated up, the white smoke disappears. Also, make sure that the gas station where you get your diesel isn't in a flood-prone area, otherwise, there might be water seeping into their fuel storage tanks, which could also be a cause of white smoke.

I think it sells for around P70 to P80 per liter only. Diesoline mentioned that Flying V is marketing biodiesel that is already pre-mixed at the pump... "bioactiv" yata ang brand nya. If there's a Flying V near your place, you could ask if they sell biodiesel in individual containers so you can control the blend you use.

Tama po yung computation mo for a 60-liter capacity fuel tank, pero diba 75-liters yung tank ng Carnival?

    ericmm:: Welcome to the forum

Diesoline recently replaced his stock tires with Dunlops, which I think he got from a fellow Tsikoteer.

hello guys. if i remember correctly, i read in my manual that the ideal tire pressure for the stock tires (215/70R15) is 35 psi. grabe talaga ung stock hankooks, all of them went oblong after only a few years of usage. im now using dunlop rv501's. just like what mikey177 is using. bought this for the thread pattern. ganda tignan eh :D
