pwede bang magtanong re the use of biodiesel? i am no longer based in manila so di ko naabutan yung mga biodiesel from seaoil and other oil companies. how do u guys gas up? magkano naman ito?

last week, i saw a store the sells biodiesel daw. maker is senbel or something. you are supposed to buy per liter. yung packaging niya is parang buying a liter of oil. cost of biodiesel is P150/L. this is derived from vegetable oil daw kaya malinis at medyo mahal sya. so when we say mag 2% mix ako, ill mix a liter of this to every 60L or fulltank ko? ganun ba ginagawa nyo? or may gas station na premix na sya? pls enlighten me. thanks

welcome to the thread, ericmm. did you buy your unit in january 2004? i saw a white unit with the same specs as yours when i was still shopping around. i got my dunlops rv501 tires from baiskee. ben's ok in banaue also has those tires in stock.

bisoy, it is just a matter of time before biodiesel becomes readily available in your place. yesterday, i saw two more biodiesel outlets in this part of the country -- a petron station in baguio city selling bioactiv in .5 liter bottles and soul cafe in rosario, la union, right after the shell station,selling senbel bd in 1 liter bottles.

driving out of urdaneta city yesterday, i chanced upon a blue sedona parked infront of a clinic with the guy at the wheel about to disembark. figuring it might be mikey177, i stopped for a quick greet. siya nga!

ericmm, AMR which distributes biodiesel made by chemrez (competitor ng senbel and supplies both seaoil and flying v) is in cubao, Quezon City. their number is 4377233. they'll deliver for free if by the pail (20 liters) in certain areas in qc. if you prefer senbel, garyq here in tsikot is a distributor. oks ang biodiesel, pero kung gusto mo ng mas informed decision, check out the threads i mentioned previously.

leolop:: Could the white-grey smoke from your unit be due to moisture? Does the white smoke disappear after the vehicle has been running for several minutes.

Yung sa akin kasi may kaunting white smoke pag cold start sa umaga, kasi walang bubong yung garahe namin kaya nahahamugan yung sasakyan. However, once everything has heated up, the white smoke disappears.

mikey, very similar circumstances natin, wala rin akong covered na garahe, baka nga dahil dun. anyway, emission test and lto reg scheduled for saturday (lto goes to big subdivisions once a month for to offer on-site registration, erpats ko taga valle verde) so we'll see what the score will be.

medyo nag chicken out ako sa pagkalas ng makina para maabot yung engine number, bayad na lang ako sa casa. next time na lang.

wag sana kayong magalit na naman sa akin for benefitting from the low resale value of Kia. the bank where i bought my previously repossessed 2001 Kia Carnival Park II and i closed the deal at (ting! ting!) P378,000.00. after initial maintenance at Kia QA and wheels of about P12k and a successful test run to Tagaytay, i'm now pretty sure i got away with a great bargain. every dog has its day, hehe.

speaking of casas, i was floored by the fantastic customer lounge of wheels e. rodriguez. walang binatbat kia Quezon Avenue. libre pa kape at kendi, pinayagan pa akong mag play ng Spider Man 2 sa dvd player nila. hinahanap ko yung insurance adjuster na binanggit earlier in the thread, wala akong nakita fitting the description. something to come back for...

re- leolop's final purchase price, holy camote!! Sama mo na rin si bisoy mainggit sa presyo mo! That means if you sell it to that kia guy who offered you plus 20, just like that you would have earned over 60K!

Regarding biodiesel purchase and sending it to the province, I order it from gary, and he delivers it to our makati office. Our makati office calls up aboitiz cargo forwarders, declare it as coconut oil because if you declare it as biodiesel, they will refuse to ship it being flammable daw. I previously asked gary if he can just ship it for me, tapos bayaran ko na lang siya, di siya pumayag kasi di daw niya kabisado. I can ship out to
cagayan de oro from cebu but yung selling price ko nasa P90 per liter na, landed cost is around P70, but that was before the price increase. Sending by boat is cheaper but mas hassle. Take note if Bisoy will order only by 1 carboy, mahal by boat kasi minimum freight is now P280 per shipment. I think cargo forwarder is better.

Regarding the sounds upgrading, I use a 5 channel alpine amplifier which was from my pajero that I sold, which is put under the driver's seat. Then a 6 inch kicker in a box which also came from my pajero (hindi siya 8 inch kasi maliit ang space sa pajero and wasn't willing to use up too much of what little space it had). I asked the accessory shop to install wirings for the sub both at the rear and in between the driver and front passenger seat, in case I need cargo space. If you want more bass, ok yung sub sa tabi ng driver seat. Since its 5 channel, it can drive the existing front and rear speakers. Yup, I still use my original HU and speakers. Kaya niya, as long as di naman boom car ang habol mo. But I would say it improved the sound system by at least 50%, even 100%. Yung front passenger seat ko kasi, duon nakakabit naman yung wireless dvd player that came with the car when I bought it from the casa.

Guys, my sedona is now on its 1st refuel WITHOUT biodiesel. Testing ko lang kung mawala yung problema ko sa injection pump. So far, nandiyan pa rin. But I didn't notice a difference in performance. Maybe kasi may residue pa ang fuel tank ko.

altec, doble na ang freight if ipapadala to cebu then from cebu papuntahin pa dito sa cdo. any way of shipping it direct from manila? i can order in pails naman if mas mura. i dnt mind storing it sa garage. im sure si kumander lang ang makakapansin nyan at aangal :D

my unit will arrive tom (sana). the papers arrived ahead of time and i was browsing thru it. parang alagang alaga nga yung oto basing from the 2-inch thick folder they gave me. nandun lahat ang history ng sasakyan ko. madami akong nakitang pinagawa rin pala nila. these are the things they encountered with the carnival:

1) on its 20k kms check up, they reported excessive smoke belching. that was the first and the last time it was ever mentioned in a job order. so i guess wala nang problem coz they had it registered jst last july.
2) both sliding doors rattle. the first to rattle is the left hand side. as early as 5k kms, pianagawa na nila. yung sa right, umabot pa ng 25k kms bago nag rattle at pinagawa nila.
3) rear door is hard to open. sometimes, it doesnt open at all daw accdg to a report filed during its 15k kms check up.
4) contrary to what i said re pinalit yung compressor, hindi pala pinalit yun! ang hindi nila pinalit ay ang compressor nalang. baliktad ata ang naalala nila. they replaced both evaporator, drier, expansion valve, etc.... and it cost them 48k last sept 2004! kaya naman pala ayaw ibenta ng sobrang mura.
5) they changed to dunlop tires 215 70 R15 jst last year also..... all 5 tires including the spare! are these good tires? stock size ba itong pinalit nila o mas malapad?
6) they had some portions repainted (bumper and sliding door) and the whole car buffed. it cost them 12k din sa casa. i dnt think may tama from an accident yung door coz walang naka indicate. sana wala nga.
7) what puzzles me is that at 45k kms, pina PMS nila sa casa. then on 48k kms, pina PMS ulit. why? no other work was done sa car except the usual check this and that tapos clean brakes lang. bakit kaya? the car is now on its 51k kms daw. kelan next PMS ko? sa 55k kms na? do i at least cahnge oil when i get it para maka abot pa ng 55k kms ang oil?
8) i also notice casa changes fuel filter along with the oil filter everytime they have it PMS. syempre SOP yang oil filter palitan. pero pati fuel filter ba? sa isuzu pick up ko, i change the filter only after abt 20k kms. replacement part lang nga yun eh. how abt u guys?

bisoy, u are right with the double freight. Yung P90 kasi, yun yung selling namin, kasi we buy in bulk, tapos we sell to our sister companies at that transfer price.

Regarding the 45 and 48 pms, baka naman sa 48k they pms it coz they were sending the car for smoke test for registration purposes? Ok lang yan at 55K.

stock yung 215 na tires. re fuel filter, ang advise nga sakin every 10k yung fuel filter and every 20k yung priming pump mismo (pati ba tlaga ito?!)
i also hear rattles pero pakiramdam ko hindi sa sliding door, sa pole mismo (the one between the sliding and front door) parang yung mga plastics ang may rattle. bubuksan ko nga minsan para ma check..bka may lumuwag lang.

sir diesoline, i tried the refill of shocks sa zee (if i recall correctly ikaw yung nagpunta din dun), mukhang ok naman pero parang pakiramdam ko mejo stiff pa. its good pag cornering and braking. pero parang rough sa potholes. im still experimenting with different tire pressures (32 na ngayon from 37), may improvement naman with the lower pressure tires. pero might have it adjusted next week depending on my findings kasi mag settle pa daw yung nitro charge nila. the pressure they placed was 90 psi sa harap and 80psi sa rr shocks. mas malaki pala yung shocks sa harap.

anybody who has an idea of the correct pressure for the shock absorbers for this kind of vehicle?

re blinking glow plug indic, I found a busted fuse sa glow plug relay/fuse box(a smaller box sa engine din). this might be it...kaso wala sa mga local shops yung type of fuse na ganun, 60A yellow colored plug in type lang pero mahaba parang maliit na chocnut hehe...will visit wheels to get one. pero surprisingly for me, 2 lang ang glow plugs nito? 2 lang ang relay at 2 lang ang fuse, di ba dapat 4 ang plugs?? is it be 2 glowplugs sa isang relay?
AND kahit nakabunot na yung isang fuse, hindi hardstarting. one click pa rin. :?? any expert advise mga sir, di ko kasi alam bakit ganun.

Sorry guys for the delay pero eto na ang request ninyo for the manual. The manual contains 320 pages more or less.

Option 1: Scan and send out via email. Scanner can only handle one page at a time, di kaya isang scan sa 2 pages. Each page averages around 110kb. So 320 pages is 35,200kb. Kaya? Or put in a CD and mail it out to those who want?

Option 2: Photocopy. Mas mahal yata itong option. Assuming piso per page, 320 pesos, plus freight.

The manual is for the park 2 or sedona models. The manual's copyright is dated 2002.

Aside from the main manual, there is a separate manual for the built in car audio system. Advise if anyone of you also want this.

P715, ouch. nga lang di ko makikita paano gawin dahil sa ibang area ng wheels auto mall ginagawa ang mga sasasakyan tsaka iiwan ko dahil palalamigin pa nila muna ang makina. and i know exactly how you mean sa mga assignment ng mga bata ngayon.

altec, baka pwede yung scan and padala mo via email in parts. i think kaya ng yahoo upto 10 meg attachement. dsl naman ako kaya oks lang.

mikey177: the fuse box assignments photos you posted are really helpful! at last, baka makikita ko na kung bakit di gumagana yung aux fan ko behind the radiator. punta ako electrician tomorrow. re the baguio climb, it rained along the way but my new dunlops didn't mind it. i have been up and down kennon road so many times that i make yabang to my former classmates that i can even traverse it in reverse!

ericmm: my unit is black too. baiskee is a tsikoteer. got the tires * 3100 each but he delivered it to the victory liner station for shipment to baguio. with ben, you get free balancing. btw, i have logged 2000kms na on my tires and i haven't had them balanced yet. i plan to have them balanced at tire boy tomorrow. try ko na rin yung nitrogen tire filling nila.

guys, WALANG SIRA ANG INJECTION PUMP KO!!!! Wheewwww!!! After I decided to refuel from a shell gas station without biodiesel, after around 60kms, I noticed nawala ang fuel knock. After 200kms, every day I checked, nawala. So I brought it to Kia, and the service advisor confirms nawala ang fuel knock. Thus, the sira is not the pump, kasi kung may dumi siya, the problem would persist. Nalito ako kung saan ang problema. Nagduda ako baka fuel knock due to low cetane rating. If I assume coco methy esther is 70 cetane, then it could mean the diesel! With this theory in mind, I checked the different suppliers that delivered diesel to us, crosschecked it against when I started to have problems with my unit and my other delivery trucks, and seems that there is a diesel supplier who is selling me lousy diesel. I talked with a former industrial account shell fuel supplier, and he confirms there is an industrial grade, and an automotive grade. Shipping lines want industrial grade, mas hiyang daw ang makina nila sa industrial grade. But industrial has less or no additives, 5-7% or cetane points (I forgot which one he meant) lower cetane rating, and mas malapot daw ang diesel ng industrial! So I went to my motorpool and met my mechanics. They also noticed that malapot daw ang diesel natin. They even went on and showed me a vic fuel filter from a canter, 2 months old, ang dumi na ng filter.

Guys, dahil dito, di ako naka office. Will give my manual to the secretary for scanning on Monday. Will confirm the total kb or mb na kakainin niya, up to you guys if you want it via email, or CD copy. Diesoline, kukunin mo dito sa Cebu? Sure!!! (seryoso ka? Pupunta ka talaga sa Cebu?) Ilang case ng beer (or wine) ang ihanda ko at ilang cebu lechon ang i-order ko? Tama na ang 2 lechon sa iyo?
