May 6th, 2005 12:33 PM #271Just finished talking with my kia service advisor contact. The microfilter is for gas model. Wala daw filter ang local diesel model.

went to the much-vaunted mang mario of pag-asa to have my microfilter cleaned yesterday. i took photos of how norman, mang mario's son disassembled the glove compartment. sayang, walang cf card reader tung netopia branch na to. i'll try to post them na lang when i find a shop with a cf reader here in bulacan.
altec: i took a photo of the underdash where the slot is. you don't see the filter right away. there is a plastic plate that covers the slot. siguro what the service advisor meant was that kia did not provide any microfilter with the local units. compare mo na lang when i get to post the photo.

close up of the microfilter's casing:
3M pala siya. the original microfilter installed with my vehicle was just the paper type. the 3M type has has plastic ribbing reinforcing the filter's element.
ok talaga kay mang mario. norman washed the dashboard bin and the plastic panels before they put the whole thing back on.Last edited by diesoline; June 7th, 2005 at 03:07 PM. Reason: edit link

May 25th, 2005 11:19 PM #276diesoline, ganun rin ang akin like pic#1. How do you remove the cover to go from pic1 to pic2? Ayaw using a screwdriver in between sa singit.

altec, did you try it again? the guys who serviced my aircon used a flat screwdriver to pop the cover plate out. is it possible that the local versions are sealed?

May 25th, 2005 11:59 PM #278Saan mo ginamit ang flat screwdriver? Sa harap? Sa side? I put the screwdriver in the slit between the 4 elongated round hole looking things and the 3 hook/hinge looking things. Didn't force it before. Will try to look at it tomorrow depending on where you use the screwdriver to pop it open.

May 26th, 2005 10:56 AM #279diesoline, was able to open the cover, press up lang pala yung dalawang plastic strip located at the bottom, below the 3 circular things. When opened, WALANG microfilter, the space was empty. I can see the blower inside pa nga eh. Your unit is the common rail model di ba, so I would assume gray unit. Yung akin, local unit, wala nga talagang filter yung slot na yun.
