Remote bypass oil filtration

Doc i went to superior motors today and asked for a wix oil filter for my 4d56. They crossed my oem filter and what came up is 57092, which is different from what i found out online which is 51067. I just ordered because they dont have any stocks for any of those. I just told them to carefully check which will match my oem oil filter and make that order for me. They are going to let me know if its already available. I was just curious if both are the same maybe just the length is different

The 57092 is completely the wrong filter and the wrong thread pattern you need the 51067.

Wait, if this is the case, do you mean the Baldwin B2 I'm using right now is not the correct filter for me?

I usually get a 3 to 4 second oil light upon initial start up from cold and it's pretty much consistent irregardless if I use the factory filter, Vic, or Baldwin. This being the case I see that as kind of normal and would only worry if it was on longer than that.

B2 is the right filter and has a anti drainback valve. If you have a oil cooler it could be the reason for your light remaining on longer, those will normally have there own bypass valve on the the engine block that can become gummed up. I would not worry about the Baldwin.

Alright sir, i will tell them(superior motors) that what i need is 51067. Thanks. 51675 can also be used, does this mean 4m40 can also use 51067?

I would use the 51075 for both after looking at the micron ratings but you can use the other.

For example

bd7028 23 nominal 45 absolute 98.9 efficient at 45 microns and 50% at 23 microns
BD28 12 nominal 25 absolute 98.9 efficient at 25 microns and 50% efficient at 12 microns.

51675 98% efficient *25 microns and 50% *19 microns
51067 98% efficient *40 microns abd 50% *30 microns

BD28 is a better filter just like the 51675 is a better filter. I would actually skip the 51067 because that's actually a pretty non impressive rating.

That depends on what year you have, and the engine. If it's the newer D4D engines or the older gas engine then it's a Baldwin BT223 for the oil filter.

If it's the 1KZTE it's the BD7029 for the oil filter and BF7535 for the fuel filter.

I have posted most of the common filters to be found on about 90% of street vehicles here in this thread, you'll have to look them up as I don't have a chart. You can also use the JS fitler site as well as the other manufacture sites cross reference charts.

If there are some odd specific vehicles you can't find feel free to PM me.

That is the correct oil filter for the 4jA1 engine. You can also use a Fleetguard LF3528 or Baldwin B1446.

And it's the correct fuel filter but you can use a few different ones on that engine but the Baldwin version of the one your looking at is BF954 or Fleetguard FF5114 which I have posted on this thread somewhere.

The bypass filters still have a full flow section and only divert around 10% of your oil to the bypass portion for finer filtering, they don't have any real pressure differential over a full flow. The dual element of a bypass filter will give you better soot control and remove more particles at a smaller micron size vs a full flow none synthetic filter media filter.

Baldwins are particularly good because they are a cellulose synthetic mix called microlite so way better than OEM on dirt holding capacity, flow, and filtering.

Here is a rare example of a really good factory bypass filter. This goes on the Estima 3CT and 3C-TE engines. You have the factory take off and then the Denso version. Both have a serious bypass section on them. From what I have found they filter down to 10 microns which is excellent.

You can use the BT223 or B33 for Baldwin or Fleetguard LF3335 for your Toyota 2E engine.

Just remember a good filter is only as good as the oil you put in.
