I don't have any specs on the Motul diesel oil but its good oil. they are so close to Mobil delvac it would be like saying what bottle color do you like better.

Here are a few more API ratings for Motul oils http://japanesemotorsport.myshopify....ns/engine-oils

For diesel engines, Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck:

    * Meets CJ-4, CI-4, and CH-4
    * Is recommended for diesel-powered pickup trucks built by Ford, General Motors, GMC and Dodge.
    * Meets diesel engine requirements of Cummins, Powerstroke, Duramax and Navistar.

Here is a good listing of oils and there various zinc contents and API ratings.. As you know excel does not show up well on forums.

    - I guess this is comparable with Delvac MX. The Zn is at 1,702 and detergents at 2388. Very high indeed, close to the synthetic delvac 1. Very good oil indeed.

    How a turd is made

God Fram suck , the only reason people buy them is because 99% of people have no clue what's inside a oil filter.

^ We belong to the 1% who knows the crap inside that can.

See that gaping slit of hole between the center tube and paper element(blue arrow marker)? Dirty oyL could take shortcut in that slit. If not for the paper end caps and poor sealing, it think quality should be OK..

The two wannabee Fleetguard, though useless bypass valves would perform better than the Fram.

I see Pacer is still passing off fakes, but yes the fakes still look better than the Fram but that fake LF3314 has horrible wavy media, the other on has a leaf spring lol not a coil spring and a sticker vs printed for the fleetguard. For them to say them to say they don't sell fakes is laughable.

    Hi DevilDoc:

Nice to hear from you again.

BTW, I have been reading a lot about the FASS system - its the Fuel-Air Separation System lately.

    What's your opinion on this?

Is it really worth the US$700 they're charging?

    Thanks a bunch,

    Dusky Lim

    ^ +1 on this doc.

My 3rd fuel filter upgrade was put on hold because of fuelling worries and im thinking of FASS to solve it.

Most diesels here dont have lift pump in the tank.. It is the fuel pump in the engine doing the sucking from tank.

Unless you have a 400hp turbo diesel and you tow 1000's of kilograms you don't need it. The money wasted on this you could have bought a life time supply of quality fuel filters that still filter down to 5 microns. Stick with a high quality filter. The price is not worth it especially on a 4cly turbo diesel or N/A 4cly diesel.

If you have a mechanical fuel pump it's really not worth it on a old school diesel they are not common rail systems and even the common rail diesel there like the D4D are really not that high pressure compared to a Cummins or Ford powerstroke diesel these are pushing 29000 psi (1999 bar) A D4D engine is only (1350) bar or about 19580psi so I just can't see the point of this system on any vehicle there at that price. A inline Delphi set up will do just fine or or a DIY one with a 2 micron filter that is inline prior to the factory fuel filter. You just need to find what your factory filter flows at and try to find one that has a higher flow rate.

Almost Any Baldwin will have a higher flow rate because it's a mixed media filter vs just a cellulose media or a bypass type filter. I prefer the aftermarket filter heads they just look like they flow better than the stock ones. I rather have 1/2 NPT inlets and outlets on mine for maximum flow.

I am still working on a set up for mine. Had to scrap my previous ideal due to the flow on the filters being totally different.

I could make a FASS system for way cheaper and just use one of my companies pumps which makes up to 250psi. But I really don't think the cost of $700 USD is worth it or even $350USD.

I just can't seem to post pics but I tried to weigh a Vic c-313 for 4m40-4m41 oil filter and a Bosch 036 filter for 4d56 and the result is a shocker. The Vic filter is obviously taller but the Bosch is heavier. Vic is .828kg while Bosch weighs in at .832kg!

Looks like the construction and materials of a Bosch (Korea) is indeed superior to Vic. Suwerte ni CB. ;)
