Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?

Yup!

Rimula is a heavy duty diesel oil rated at CH-4. Its also got lots of approval: cummins, mb, allison, iveco, man, mack, etc...

I got a pail which figures out to be Php 10x.xx per liter from lubestrader. Petron HD (which has no advertised approval or api rating) is almost the same price as that.

I already need to order another pail. 4 vans awaiting oil changes. Coupled with Bosch and Baldwin (some of its filters cost same as Bosch) filters, I think I might have a winner here, cost-wise that is.

You can never punish the heavy duty diesel oil enough on 5k oci...
Depende sa purpose mo ang pag choose ng engine oil,,
Most of the time budget and personal preferences ang major points to consider....

70% ng oil consumption in south east asia is still mineral base oils... Group 1 and group 2...

Mobil delvac is not fully synthetic. It is ultra refined mineral oil or group 3 but is marketed as "fully synthetic" in the US.

Personally, hindi pa.... I was about to but they told me to use Caltex instead. Hindi daw nakalagay ung oil data ng Petron kaya hard to determine if its good oil.

Mobil 1 supersyn 0w40 and 5w50 lang ang true synthetics from Mobil 1 these days. The rest are ultra refined mineral oil group 3 and group 2 conventional mineral oil.

Sa US kasi pag group 3, it can be marketed as fully synthetic. It "fools" a lot of people kasi nga naman may naka tatak sa label na fully synthetic.

Mobil Delvac MX - Group 2

Mobil Delvac 1 is Group 3 with Group IV in it. It may not satisfy your FS requirement per se but in performance, it's as good as any FS you can get out there. Kaya considered na siyang FS. You get what you paid for in a sense because of its high price.

Basa ka sa remote bypass filtration na thread, it has been discussed there before. Even the CAT special diesel oil is a repacked Mobil Delvac and it is also considered FS. Sa BITOG sikat din yan.

I'm considering Top1 SDO in my next oil change.... Price is just a bit higher compared to Mobil Delvac MX. Question is, this is only semi synthetic. Could it go to 10K odo when I pair it up with baldwin filters?

According to dvldoc those oils are safe for 10000 OCI especially with baldwin filters if you can still find Baldwins locally. As for me I go with delvac mx since it has slightly higher TBN of 12 compared to Top1 SDO which has TBN of 11.

^^^ is the TBN of Mobil MX really 12?, HH Asia Trading Inc (distributor of mobil in the Philippines) list it as 10 (HH Asia Trading, Inc. - Bringing High-Quality ExxonMobil Products to the Philippines - Brands - Mobil Delvac 1) while another site list as 12 (Mobil Delvac MX 15W-40). Hopefully its 12 and the 10 is either a typo error or an old spec
