    team,

    between the two 5w30 & 10w40,
ano ba talaga ang best suited for new cars?

i read somewhere in BTOG that 5w30 daw are better suited for newer cars kasi hindi pa loose yung mga engine components, 10w40 better for older cars. nakakalito lang.

    thanks

Nope, FS ang Delvac 1 (group IV). Delvac MX yung mineral nila.

    * Bayen. For new cars the best for break-in at least until 5,000kms is mineral oil X/XXw40 rating. The fist 2 or 1 number digit doesn't matter much in our climate.

But if your car comes with an FS like some performance and very high quality cars, then you can use FS already. Better see your manual pa rin para safe. W30 oils will give you fuel economy. Okay lang yan IMO sa mga gas engines, pero sa diesel ideal talaga X/XXW40 or X/XXW50 if really old car na.

so W30 for gas engines will give you fuel economy but will it also give good engine protection over a W40?

more protection for the w40. but imo can you really spot the difference?

use whichever suits you, both wont do you any harm.

For newer cars yes. A w30 oil is usually semi-syn or FS na kasi. So since gasoline engine naman okay na din siya. Used havoline fully syn 5w30 on my avanza service for 2 years and no problem. Every 10K pa COI interval nun with OEM/vic oil filter.

Maganda specs niya for a gas engine eh esp the VI, TBN, Ash kaya puwede talaga sa 10K COI. Pero parang wala na ito. http://www.watsonlubricants.co.uk/Te....pdf?vm=r&vm=r
