Sir Dieseldude
Thanks in advance!
hi,
i have a diesel daewoo forklift, it spews white smoke at idle and even more smoke when you rev it.
had the injection pump recalibrated and it seemed to lessen the smoke, but the is still a noticeable amount of smoke.
had 2 mechanics look at it and they say the engine is a goner, blow-by na.
but since its just smoke, and its just a forklift used in private property, no problems with law enforcement. so i just kept using it as it is, all smoky as hell.
but lately, it doesn't want to start, sometimes, when you're using it, it just stalls and doesn't want to re-start.
have ruled out overheating since i just installed a temp gauge and it was used extensively then whole day yesterday but it didn't stall.
my only 3 reasons for it exhibiting the problems are:
1. faulty starter
2. stalling/hard starting because of blowby??? <-- this one i'm not sure.
3. gremlins in the electrical system. <-- so very hard to diagnose. but had a relay recently replaced.
any ideas? thanks!
for cold start compensation, kailangan ng solenoid valve or mechanism para tumaas yung idle RPM. Hindi ako familiar sa injection pump ng 4D56 engine. pwede rin nag share yung aircon at cold start compensation ng solenoid valve during engine start. best way is to observe similar good running 4D56 engine and see how it behaves during cold start .
For WLT31 engine kasi eh separate ang solenoid valve ng cold start at aircon. At cold start eh kita ko na na-activate yung vacuum actuator para tumaas yung idle then after 2~3 minutes eh release na ito.

Run the engine temporarily without the exhaust manifold to see if all cylinders are smoking white. It is possible that only one cylinder is smoking..

my only 3 reasons for it exhibiting the problems are:
1. faulty starter and/or relay, weak battery = no crank or low cranking rpm
2. stalling/hard starting because of blowby??? <-- this one i'm not sure. Do a compression test. Is the engine consuming oil?
3. gremlins in the electrical system. <-- so very hard to diagnose. but had a relay recently replaced. Starter relay? Also possible if the pump is rotary and has a fuel shut-off solenoid.
any ideas? thanks!
Pleck,
Normal ang konting usok/oil sa filler cap at dipstick sa mga high mileage engines. 128k palang po tinakbo
80kph maximum speed is not normal.
hd my starter checked out, so far so good. they did some repair on it.
now its starting better. i'm still going to observe the stalling.
how do u do a compression test?
Compression test is performed with the engine cold and not running.
- Disconnect the wire to the shutdown solenoid so that the engine will not start.
- Remove all glow plugs in order to install the compression gauge on cylinder #1.
- Crank the engine and read maximum compression pressure.
- Repeat this procedure on cylinders 2 to 4.
- Compare your compression readings with official Mitsubishi service infotmation.
any idea where i can buy a compression gauge? and how much would it cost?
thanks!
Sir Dieseldude,
Need your usual help here..
What would be the cause of knocking sound on my TD27 Turbo engine?(Nissan Homy)
Engine was newly overhauled, calibrated the inj pump & nozzle. My trusted mechanic told me that rocker arm was the problem due to big clearance on cam shaft. Then I replaced with surplus(sariwa) camshaft & rocker arm, unfortunately knocking sound still there.
The person who did calibration, checked also if the nozzle is the cause of knocking sound but found wasnt.
Pls advice other possible causes.
thanks,
nitram

Does knock come from all cylinders or from a single cylinder only?
