May 24th, 2009 12:17 PM #541Why do you need to have your injectors serviced? My suggestion: "If it ain't broke, don't touch it". This is unnecessary expense.
Fyi, it's the injector which is calibrated, not the nozzle tip. The nozzle is a part of the injector assembly.
Here's how work is done on the injector:
- Upon arrival of vehicle, engine will have to be cooled down for approx. 30 minutes.
- Time to dismount injectors depends on the engine configuration. sometimes, intercooler and/or other components may have to be removed to gain access to the injectors. This may take from 30 mins to 2 hours.
- Injectors will be tested/evaluated for proper opening pressures, spray pattern, and automization, about 30 mins.
- Good or bad, injectors will be disassembled for cleaning, and checked if installed parts are correct. We have seen injectors with the wrong nozzles installed. Depending on the situation, nozzle/s may be reused, or will have to be replaced. Injectors will then be reassembled and calibrated... another 30 mins to an hour.
- Injectors and other previously dismounted engine components will be reinstalled. Engine will be started, and air bleeding shall also be done.
As you can see, the whole process can take from a half day to a whole day. It is also possible that when you come in, all service personnel may have already been deployed. If this is the case, you will have to wait for our next available technician.
I will PM you.

July 11th, 2009 03:49 PM #542Hello everyone,
I would like to ask if anyone here drives a Toyota Fortuner D4D (common-rail.) Meron bang nakaka experience ng white smoke sa pag start and then medyo malakas ang vibration, tapos after mga 5-10 seconds bumabalik sa tamang andar.
Please reply if you have any information regarding this complaint. Thanks for the help.

July 16th, 2009 11:49 AM #544Yes I have seen this problem once, but didn't have the opportunity to perform complete diagnostics.
Customer came to us to seek a 2nd opinion as his Hi Lux D4D had been going back and forth to the casa for correction of this specific complaint, but problem was never fixed. I advised him to go back to the casa for warranty as he had already spent a lot. By the way, casa is now telling him that the injectors may need replacement. Very expensive.......
He said that if casa is not able to fix it this last time, he will bring the car to us. We'll see then.
I do hope that others can contribute to this thread.

July 16th, 2009 12:19 PM #545Mahirap sagutin ang tanong mo dahil hindi natin naamoy ang exhaust sa thread. Hahaha!
But seriously, best thing for you to do is to go to Mits casa, and ask them about this. You can also do a 1 on 1 smell comparison test with other new Mits 09 Adventures. If this condition is normal, then nothing is wrong with your car.
Also, I have noticed a real difference on the smoke levels and scent between old traditional diesels and the new common rail stuff.
This is due to design differences on compression pressures, fuel automization, timing, and exhaust gas treatment.
Very interesting topic........... please keep us posted.

July 18th, 2009 01:18 PM #546Hi! Sir, sana nga may smell indicator dito sa thread
Just to give you an update, i did go to the casa for 1000 PMS, i did ask them regarding the smell of the smoke sabi nila normal lang daw yung different smell ng smoke since bago pa at hindi pa napapalitan ng oil (from stock) right now same smell na sya with our 06 advie (ginawa ko yung 1 on 1 smell comparison test joke) pero noticable na hindi na sya masakit sa ilong unlike before.
Follow up lang dun sa nabasa ko dito sa thread regarding sa bioactiv, i was wondering to try it sa new advie ko but like what i also had read here hindi naging maganda yung nangyari dun sa 2007 sportivo, 1L bioactiv then full tank, nawala yung black smoke pero napalitan naman ng white smoke at natanggal lang white smoke after magrefil sya nung nangalahati na yung tank... Hirap magdecide, hope to had your opinion sir dieseldude
Ingat po palagi

Kaso taga lang talaga sila sa presyo ng langis tsk tsk You don't really have to buy casa oil. Just follow your Mits owner's manual on the suggested oil grade. However, you have to consider your warranty. Some casas void warranty if periodic service is not done by them. Check this out on your warranty terms and conditions.

Most LPG cars in Thailand are released as dual fuel capable, which means that the LPG system is factory installed. There is a big difference between our local installation and a factory installed system. Most factory installed systems switch not only the fuel, but the ECU program as well. The engine management system uses different programs for petrol and LPG. This optimizes fuel use and controls exhaust emissions to minimum.

I've been using ordinary diesel from Petron, and I'm happy with this........... never saw a need for fuel additives.

July 19th, 2009 04:24 PM #549Dahil 2nd hand car yan from Subic, I do suggest that you change the transmission oil and filter.
I am a diesel tech, not a transmission specialist. But I will suggest the following:
- Know the recommended transmission oil for your car.
- Remove drain plug from transmission oil pan, drain and collect your transmission oil.
- Check this oil for presence of metal particles. If present, this is an indication of clutch slippage and possible transmission failure.
- Remove the transmission oil pan, and again inspect for any metal particles collected at the bottom of the pan.
- The transmission filter is often a small rectangular part, which can be seen/removed after the oil pan is pulled down.
Btw, better thing for you to do is to go to Tsikot's "Transmissions" forum.
Good luck.
