    My mechanic suggested to do a top overhaul first to check the oil leak he suspects that the valve seal is the culprit since wala naman ibang leak sa engine. I ask him also to change all the fuel line hose, check the egr, change the air element and fuel filter to oem. 4M40 injection pump is gear driven (no timing belts or chains). Lube oil could be pulled in from the pump's drive end if the drive shaft, oil seal, and/or bushings are worn out. Oil sucked in by the injection pump will return flow to the fuel tank. Result is a dark and thick appearance of diesel fuel due to oil contamination, and seemingly high oil consumption.... These were your initial complaints on your previous post...

    Sir affected din ba shifting ng AT from first to second gear pag cold pa yung engine pag faulty yung fuel injector? I'm experiencing this every morning pero pag normal temp na yung engine wala naman problema shifting, yung first to 2nd gear lang talga problema sa umaga. I do not see how a faulty injector/s will affect transmission shifting when cold.... There is just no connection..

    So even if we do the top overhaul the problem with the injectors sucking air will still continue? and the fuel tank will still be contaminated with oil?

    This is very possible as your previous post seems to indicate an injection pump problem. You also first have to differentiate between the injection pump and the injectors.


    So its a different problem all together, nyikes. I believe so.... my advise is based on your post. You can however opt to take your mechanic's position. He may be in a better position to analyze your problem as your car is with him.

    I'll update you sir on the developments though I believe the injectors still needs to be shipped to central diesel for evaluation. Your injection pump may have to be serviced, not your injectors.

    guys, gud pm...baka pwede nyo ako matulungan ulit..

    just this afternoon nung paalis n kami sa parking lot ng walter mart munoz

    nung nag start na ako ng carnival, ung rpm ko biglang umakyat, nag rev mag isa....so i decided to switch the key off...dami tuloy usok sa labas ng parking....anyways, inulit ko ulit, start again, same result, rpm would shoot up....so patay ko ulit susi...then i decided to check the throttle cable, pero ok naman sya at walang slack....tama lang ang kabit....i also check my gas pedal, wala naman ako nakita problema....ilang beses din ako nag try mag start pero same result.....rpm would shoot up..basta umabot na ng around
    2.5k rpm pinapatay ko na makina....i was in the parking lot for almost 3hrs...hassle

    so nag pa tow na lang ako.....then malapit na ako sa circle, i decided to "kadyot" the car.habang naka tow....(taxi lang pala ang nag tow sa akin).....saying to myself, what the heck try ko paabutin hanggang dulo ung rpm....dahil bwiset na bwiset na ako.......

    so i "kadyot" the car...then rpm went up.....1.5k....2k...3k then around 5k rpm...the needle went down and it returned to normal condition.......so i told the taxi to pull over...so ayun normal na ulit...

    then dito na sa house....i turned it off, then start again...normal na naman sya.....

    guys long story pero, ano kaya cause nito..baka pwede nyo ako matulungan mag detect kung ano problem......hay gastos na naman

    na post ko lang dahil nag ask ako sa friend ko kung ano ang possible na sira, though di nya kabisado ang diesel engines also ang carnival, he mentioned something about a "governor"?

    then i search it and this thread came up.....meron ba nito ang kia carnival?

    BTW: ride is '00 kia carnival diesel..

    Yes, meron governor ang Carnival. Pwede rin panggalingan ito ng problema gaya ng sayo.

    sir until now ok naman ang pag start..di na ulit nag wi wild..pero katakot pa rin kasi baka pag nasa parking or other place ulit eh baka mangyari nanaman...
    how do i clean the intercooler? pwede ba ito basain at sabunin? tnx



    lastly, sir dieseldude...san po located ang "governor" ng kia carnival?

    sir me pang calibrate ba kyo ng efi injection pump ng JDM mitsubishi pajero 4m40? I'm buying 1, so I wanna know if incase mag ka problem I know where I can have it serviced? thanx

    This Pajero uses a COVEC-F injection pump. We provide service for this system.
