with the country's infrastructure and scarce real estate for charging stations, hybrids are more viable than plug in electrics. picture yourself driving to pampanga from manila, it will take time to recharge, if there are any charging stations. the state of charge will limit your range. if it were hybrid whether series or parallel, the range is readily extendable because there are still fuel stations around.

    i agree.
    right now,
it's not so much the supply of EVs,
as it is the power stations' availability.

Its hard to own an EV for people who live in condos. There is nowhere to charge the car at home whereas people who live in houses or townhouses can just add a breaker.

Most of the electric cars for sale locally are too expensive. A Nissan Leaf is P2.7M. The Hyundai Ionic 5 looks promising but might be even more expensive once it arrives on our shores.

IF you have a house to set off from and where you're going, our voltage is actually pretty good for EVs. At least we'll always have level 2 charging which should be enough to overnight "full tank" even a 100kWh car like the Model S.

my biggest issue with EV's is the lack of a standard charging port.

imagine buying a Leaf... tapos di pala pwede CHAdeMo sa local malls

Or buying a Leaf tapos di ka pwedeng makicharge sa friend mong naka Weltmeister

at least with Hybrids... its the same gas sold by Shell, Petron and Petro Gazz

kahit nandyan na ang EV charging infrastructure, stability and reliability of electricity supply is still an issue.

sa tsayna nga dahil sa heatwave compromised ang electricity supply and EV charging stations had to shut down.

hybrids still make more sense here.

Hyundai Kona EV was on sale but was still expensive at 2.4m.

Yup, this is a very valid concern. California nga nagkakaproblema na ngayon eh.
