Speaking of which, madami na ba nag dala Dito Ng Tesla?

But that was several years ago pa.

    how do you define "madami"

IMO, for a car like Tesla that's not supported locally and presently not officially available locally... 20+ units is "madami"

and I think based on my personal estimates... I've seen more than 20 Tesla's along Makati and BGC.

this is why I find the list funny... imagine asking a traffic enforcer to memorize the "list" - in the real world, until we see a special plate for EVs and Hybrids, just show the enforcer the OR/CR, tell them its a hybrid and they probably will let you go.

funny story. around end of the holy week (2023)... I know a Vespa rider who was stopped and ticketed for "illegal modification"

his mod... bar end side mirrors

according to my friend, the enforcer told him that only XXX and XXX (yes only 2 motorcycles released locally) had official bar end side mirrors. the Vespa was not in the list, hence... his set-up is an illegal mod

Considering , as you stated, it's neither supported nor sold locally, I reckon 20+ units in the manila area alone Falls under the "madami" category [emoji16]

So lto is already accepting reg for the Tesla Pala. Pangilinan's Tesla reportedly wasn't allowed to be registered simply because the lto was still working on the technicalities on how to classify full electric vehicles.

that was years ago. the Teslas I see in BGC and Makati presently use regular plates.

funny personal story. as of Aug 15, 2023...

I've seen more Tesla in Makati/BGC than Toyota's Zenix (0) and Chevrolet Trax (1)

work from office ako tomorrow... baka bumawi ang Zenix

Tesla is not on the list, meaning they only recognize those that were legally sold locally.
Since imported lang mga yan, walang local certification/homulogation or whatever certification required ng gov't natin for the vehicles that will be legally sold sa atin.

HanCars, ANIS and EV solutions plus several grey market importers are selling Tesla in the Phil. Mostly Model 3 and Y. There are also some independent importers bringing in Tesla models S and X.
They are all Grey Market Importers. Tesla hasn't officially launched in our country thou they are present in other ASEAN countries already.

The list also doesn't include the other older hybrids. Toyota Prius-C, Honda CR-Z, Lexus CT-200H

Doesnt EV have zero taxes according to EO12?
so dapat no excise tax? or excise tax for the Grey market importer?

For the tesla, hindi kasi siya formally launched and sold in Pinas.
Not sure if makaavail siya sa ganitong perks.
I have no idea sa mga imports if maka avail ba din sila.
I read somewhere na may nagooffer na daw dito na mag import ng cars like Tesla.
They are positioning themselves as go to dealer to purchase Tesla but more on importer lang talaga.
Pagdating sa after-sales and warranties, not sure how they will service their clients.

True. we still have to wait for Tesla to Officially enter our market. I can't wait for them to implement the Direct to Consumer selling strategy here in the Phil.

The pricing of the Grey market Teslas is varied.
before the EO12, Hans was selling the Model 3 for over 4M pesos. After the EO12 passed they lowered it to 3.9M . While newer importer ANIS (Same company daw that has Taxis/REntal fleet) is selling the Model 3 for 2.9M only. Warranty is claimed to them accdg to both Hancars and ANIS. it both comes with Home Wall charger. Wasnt able to ask about battery warranty thou.

they don't have to memorize it, as all they have to do is bring with them the list.
consult the list, if in doubt.
    eventually, mame-memorya rin nila yan.

    so yes,
having a different plate number for these vehicles appears to be the logical move.
alas, our suppliers of number plates appear to have difficulty supplying us with the ordinary plates... what more for special plates for EVs and hybrids...

correct me if i am in the wrong, but
is there a written rule regarding the characteristics of an LTO-acceptable side mirror for motorcycles and scooters?
ang alam ko kasi, ay wala.
    basta dapat meron. maski pops.

According to auto-vloggers they just tell the enforcer "hybrid sir/maam". The enforcer doesn't even bother to check the OR/CR nor look behind for the "Hybrid" badge. And whats stopping unscrupolous and enterprising Pinoys from simply buying/selling "Hybrid" badges and sticking them?

    Sorry for the OT:

ang alam din namin basta you have a side mirror on each side... ok na

demand for the CR and see if "hybrid" or "EV" is on the document.

but truly, the more effective move is to issue color-coded number plates to these special vehicles.

    parang duktor.
    "PRC ID po please?"

actually... the older Okavango's didn't even have a "hybrid" badge... it just says 48V

Dami nilang extra cars.

Just saw a pure EV car sporting an ordinary black over white plate.
