Carb vehicles not ethanol ready?
then why during the late 70's Alchogas ang fuel ng Philippines due to the oil crisis and most or all gas engines had carbs then, nothing happened to them.
for me its all BS

August 11th, 2006 09:52 PM #213well, if e85 is really gonna kill off carb'd engines, that would push owners to convert to lpg

August 12th, 2006 01:15 AM #214I wouldn't mind putting in E10 as long my car has a newly-built engine (ie. R18, R20A, J35A i-VTEC, 2ZR-FE)
Pero if it is a car that was made before 2000, then I won't risk it. Heck, I'm quite scared if Toyota's 2AZ-FE engine can run E10 safely (since 2002 made yung old Previa)
Still, I would think that medyo kulang pa rin ethanol because it also gives out disadvantages. If you want a win-win solution, get Bio-Butanol

yng kombi, hiway driving yun from manila to nueva ecija (every other week). believe me, kayang kaya pang tumakbo ng 110 kph (* 4,000+ rpm) top speed.cruising speed namin 60-80 kph (2,000-2,900 rpm) lang kc walang brake assist at pawis-steering yun.
IMO, pinapatagal lang ang issue about the E10 or E20 blend. pwedeng pwede naman sa mga gas-fed cars yun, basta ang importante --> proper tune-up and maintenance.

I heard na nilabas na raw ng shell yung Super Unleaded nila na E10 (10% Ethanol) it's cheaper than ordinary unleaded yata.
I was wondering, will it affect the performance of our cars? Any Idea on its octane rating?
Share nyo naman mga opinions nyo.

i've heard di daw sya pwede sa carburated engines. pang injected lang.
and afaik, lumabas na yan. yung shell dito sa may pasong tamo, nagbebenta na nyan eh. its a little bit cheaper than the usual gasoline, but i've heard feedbacks too that your car consumes it more than the usual gasoline. in short, pareho lang ang gastos mo.
ang maganda lang ata dito is that, it emits less emissions than the normal gasoline.
imho.
