Ako siguro Caltex Silver dahil 5% rebate ng HSBC MC. Sa Petron kasi,- only 3% rebate ang Petron- BPI MC (unless the bill is >=P1000 where you can get freebies now from Chowking).

It will be a loss for my Citi-Shell Visa.

Dami mong credit card ah! Well I don't have HSBC and Shell-Citi so no go at Caltex and Shell. Petron-BPI lang ako and BDO so no choice but Petron.

(Sigh) The price of peace of mind...

The government has no political b*lls. That is why they are resorting to these types of subtle actions.... Afraid to do the right thing upfront for the right reasons......

BTW, is the ethanol now locally manufactured, or are we importing it, too?

Petron E10 Premium provides the following performance benefits:

*It also contains fuel grade ethanol which the Philippines is capable of manufacturing. Local manufacture of ethanol helps give more employment opportunities to our people .
*Moreover, use of ethanol additive lessens our dependence on imported crude oils.

    RA 9367 dated 24 July 2006
    http://www.doe.gov.ph/popup/RA%209367.pdf

    Section 5 states.
5.0 Mandatory Use of Biofuels. ... ALL LIQUID FUELS FOR MOTORS AND ENGINES SOLD IN THE PHILIPPINES SHALL CONTAIN LOCALLY SOURCED BIOFUEL COMPONENTS...."

so it is moot to argue where the biofuel comes from (LOCALLY SOURCED) and is there ANY fuel out there with no biofuel (ethanol) at all....of course NONE. All are with ethanol now and with at least 5 to 10% composition for gasoline (different with diesel).

Sections 5.1 states that within 2 years fuels will have a 5% bio fuel composition (which means by July 2008. All fuels now have 5% biofuel)

Section 5.2 states within 4 years fuels will have a 10% bio fuel composition (that would be July 2010. All will have 10% biofuel)

and of course the provision for those who do not follow are in sections 12 and the penalty provisions in section 13.

Any company selling fuels with NO ethanol is violating this RA and is liable for the penalties in Section 13. XCS, Blaze, V Power, etc. etc. lahat yan me biofuel na.

Wala na pong gasolina na walang ethanol ngayon.

dahil sa clean air act. bawal na ang leaded fuels.

Sa provinces mayroon pa rin. kahit na big 3.

AFAIK, there haven't been lead in our gasoline for at least a decade or two. Otherwise, all catalytic converters will be destroyed in a matter of months.

    Thanks for this, bro.

However, when I inquired with Tech Support of Petron, Caltex and Shell about 2 weeks ago, they confirmed the following:

Petron - Xtra Unleaded is ethanol-blended
XCS and Blaze - pure gasoline

Shell - all fuel variants, Unleaded, Premium and V-Power are ethanol-blended

Caltex - Silver (last Monday was ethanol-blended; used to have an e10 variant)
    Gold - pure gasoline

Also, the local production of ethanol is the spirit of the RA,- but still, the lingering question is,- are all of the ethanol used here, locally manufactured or some are still imported?

Here's a tip: there's a Seaoil branch in Marikina that prices their E97 at P35.xx, cheaper than the usual SRP of E97. I think ok itong E97 since it runs on 97 RON already plus the E10/ethanol booster burns clean - good for the environment and your car.

I guess there are two SeaOil branches in Marikina, one is along JP Rizal in Greenheights, Nangka and the other is in the boundary of Concepcion and Parang (Paraluman St). So does both stations sell the same price?
