Double Post
For cars that are not e10 compatible what are the alternatives?
caltex gold? shell super premium? do they contain e10?
Petron XCS so far no e10 blend yet.
One way of telling if the fuel has an e10 blend, is to look out for a yellow sticker (located near the gun). I think, under gov't regulations or directives, mandates that the display of this yellow sticker is required for fuel with e10 blend.
Not sure about Caltex silver if it's already e10.
However, just to be sure, I now use either XCS (Petron) or Premium(Shell).....
I noticed though that the pump for the Shell Unleaded still does not reflect that it is e10. So I guess the Shell Unleaded still is pure gasoline. Could someone confirm this, please?

I also had the same plan, i tried to fill up with shell premium,
but the attendant told me that it is also ethanol blended, so i did not fill up.
that's why i posted here hoping somebody out there could clarify, checking the website of the oil companies got me nowhere.
i'll try to pass by other station on my way home today.
My last visit to a shell station, I was surprised to see their only 95 octane fuel - VPower, was already with ethanol. So unless they start selling another 95 octance non-ethanol fuel, iwas na muna kami totally sa shell. It seems Caltex's Gold, and Petron's XCS seems to still be ethanol free, although I'm not really that certain. Baka hindi lang nila nilagyan ng markings?
makikita nyo naman yung stations na walang E10 sa sign.. most probably may E10 na yung unleaded nila.. so I go lang sa station na may CALTEX E10 and CALTEX SILVER sa sign nila.. so nakahiwalay pa din yung may E10.
thats what shell's gas boy told me too....pati daw ang premium unleaded nila ay may halong ethanol na rin..kung gaano karami yan ang hindi ko alam.
i was also wondering why petron says in their ads na "blended with premium organic combustion enhancers" baka may ethanol na rin yung xcs nila
yung Shell Premium and V-Power may halong E10 narin ba?
nagtanong kasi ako kahapon sa Shell gas station sabi nila lahat daw may E10 na sila.
Yan ang sinasabing rule no. 1. Know your customers. Alam ng mga gas stations na karga lang tayo ng karga. So kung ano yung magandang pakinggan sa ads nila yun ang kanila imamarket.
Nasa atin na yan kung maniniwala tayo o more research para di maisahan.
some gas stations advises motorist to contact their car manufacturer regarding the use of e10 fuel on their car.
i've inquired online a week ago with my car manufacturer regarding my carb engine (4g13) and the use of e10 or ethanol blended fuel.
and they replied with:
Thank you for sending us your inquiry regarding mitsubishi lancer.
Carburetor engine are not capable for E10 since the fuel system design cannot accept ethanol. At this time, carburetor convertion kits are not available and as per cost estimate may be similar to a brand new engine.
Also, part supply is a major concern since most carburetor engine are over 5 years old.
We hope that these information will be of help to you.
my mechanic told me naman na OK lang mag-e10,
medyo supot lang sa arangkada ang effect ng e10 sa oto ko.
hindi na tulad ng pure unleaded gasoline.
Yes bro. All of Shell's gasoline variants (Super Unleaded, Super Premium and V-Power) are E10-blended. I emailed Shell after reading the posts of bro. 1D4LV in the Lancer Pizza Pie thread. Shell responded immediately and confirmed this.
Also, they mentioned about their Regular Unleaded, being unblended. However, this is for engines whose requirement is <81RON. Availability is on selected Shell Gas Stations only.

The government's mandate to shift to E10 is a subtle way of forcing the phase-out of carbureted engines.
Whether it's good news or bad news, would depend on your point of view.
Iwas Shell na pala dapat
I hope Petron's XCS is still pure... I know eventually they will all become E10 but at least hanggang hindi pa sagarin na!
Sa big 3 E10, I got the worst Km/liter using Shell E10. Almost the same sa Petron E10. With caltex E10, bad but not as bad as Shell's E10.
PTT still has pure unleaded. I was able to fill up today, they even had a peso discount per liter.
*zero - i think engines will still run even if e10 blended gasoline is used. what concerns me more is the effect of ethanol on the fuel delivery system of the car. i've read somewhere that it can damage seals and corrode some materials.
Actually, I emailed the Big3 yesterday and they all responded almost immediately. (Now, that is excellent customer service!). Here are their current state of fuel(gasoline) offerings:
Petron : E10-Blended: Xtra Unleaded ; Pure Gasoline: XCS, Blaze
Shell : E10-Blended: Super Unleaded, Super Premium, V-Power ; Pure Gasoline: Regular Unleaded (<81RON)
Caltex : E10-Blended: E10 Silver ; Pure Gasoline: Silver, Gold
E10 - 10% Ethanol; 90% Gasoline
Shell's Regular Unleaded is available on selected Gas Stations only.

Thanks a lot CVT. So iwas Shell na muna ako unless everyone becomes E10. For now XCS will be my fuel of choice.
