"It is true that shifting to E10 is an industry-wide move.

There are still some stations that sell XTRA Unleaded with E10 as an
    ADDITIONAL product.

Most stations, however, will have ONLY E10 Premium."

    – 5% of total sales

    E10 FAQ

    1. What is E10 Xtra Premium?

E10 Xtra Premium is a revolutionary gasoline from Petron. It contains 10% Ethanol, a natural fuel derived from plants that boosts fuel performance, and 90% Petron Xtra Premium gasoline. E10 Xtra Premium is also blended with unique fuel additives that are specially formulated to deliver and sustain high engine performance.

    2. What is new about E10 Xtra Premium?

E10 Xtra Premium is the first gasoline that brings together extra power and economy. The advanced cleaning action of its high performance fuel additives enhances the power of the engine for optimum performance. Beyond this extra power, E10 Xtra Premium results to fuel savings while keeping the tail-
    pipe exhaust emission clean.

    3. What is the octane rating of E10 Xtra Premium?

E10 Xtra Premium has an octane rating of 95+ RON, exceeding the minimum requirements of the Philippine National Standards. This high octane rating boosts the power of your engine to give a smooth and comfortable drive.

    4. Will I notice increased power when I use E10 Xtra Premium?

Yes, with E10 Xtra Premium, you will expect significant improvements in acceleration and overall engine performance. The high octane rating of E10 Xtra Premium also prevents engine knock and subsequent engine failure.

    5. Does E10 Xtra Premium’s high octane rating compromise fuel economy?

No, E10 Xtra Premium actually promotes fuel economy. Its high octane rating results to smoother engine response and improved acceleration that in turn contributes to reduced fuel consumption.
E10 Xtra Premium is also blended with specially formulated high performance additives that prevent and remove deposits resulting to increased fuel economy and optimum engine performance.

    6. What are the other benefitsof using E10 Xtra Premium?

    • ENGINE CLEANLINESS. It is formulated with unique high performance additives that not only prevent but also remove dirt and deposits from the engine to ensure a high level of engine cleanliness.
    • LONGER ENGINE LIFE AND CLEANER EMISSIONS. The reduction of damaging deposits contributes to prolonged engine life. The more efficient engine operation reduces emission of harmful by-products.
    • OPTIMUM ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Ethanol gasoline burns more easily than gasoline, thereby promoting rapid release of energy from the fuel. The additive system keeps the engine clean and enables it to run fast. Vehicle performance is enhanced resulting to increased power, smooth response and less fuel use.

    7. Can E10 Xtra Premium be used in any vehicle model?

E10 Xtra Premium can be used in a majority of fuel-injected vehicles that are already running on conventional unleaded gasoline, whether old or new. Before filling up with E10 Xtra Premium, it is advisable to refer to your car manual or to consult with your car dealer.

    8. Does the engine need modification before gassing up with E10 Xtra Premium?

Generally, there is no need to alter or modify fuel-injected type engines to use E10 Xtra Premium. For carbureted engine models, however, your car dealer’s advice must be sought.

    9. Can E10 Xtra Premium be mixed with other Petron unleaded gasoline any time?

Yes, E10 Xtra Premium can be mixed and is compatible with other Petron premium gasoline grades.

    10. Can E10 Xtra Premium be used in motorcycles?

Some models of 4T motorcycles are already designed to be compatible with ethanol-blended gasoline. As there are many varieties and models in the market for 2 and 4 stroke motorcycles, we strongly recommend that you consult with your motorcycle manufacturer /importer on the compatibility of E10 Xtra Premium with your engine make.

Shell station near Lourdes hospital around december ata nagasbi na sa akin na phase out na unleaded kasi at that time out of stock sila, then a few days later meron na ulit sila stock.

asked the gas boy sa shell tapat ng puregold shaw blvd. sabi nung gas boy, wala pa naman sila natanggap na balita or memo about pahsing it out, in fact it's their #1 seller.

    ano kaya ang totoo?

E10 is hitting the markets (and our fuel tanks).

I normally use unleaded....is there any adjustment to be made on the engine when converting to E10? Or can we just alternate between E10 and unleaded without any worry?

To the long-time E10 users, how's your engine afterwards?
Share nyo naman mga kwento nyo, to give us the heads up.

You will get less miles per gallon or should I say less kilometers per liter!!!
    Ethanol has shorter shelf life.
Ethanol is also expensive, you pay cheaper because of government subsidies.

    parang mas madali maubos.

yung carga ko na 200, normally 3 times ko end to end ang commonwealth, normal traffic (medium), using petron xtra unleaded.

sa shell e10, 2 times lang, papunta ofc at pauwi, then kelangan ko na magkarga ulit next morning, when sa regular unleaded may tira pa para makapag pa gas sa favorite gas station ko sa may UP.

There's no way around this fact: E10 contains 85% of the energy compared to gasoline. Kaya expect lower mileage.

The use of E10 is not geared towards better fuel economy (FE), but more for protecting the environment.

Oh, and needless to say, use E10 only on engines that are designed to take it. Read here for more info and precautions: http://www.fuel-testers.com/ethanol_...ecautions.html

yes i noticed that too... well before when fuel prices is very high i've tried to fill E10 instead of regular unleaded, i noticed lesser milage nga. i thought maybe ethanol evaporates faster even when its in our tank..

ethanol has less energy per liter than regular gasoline. So a mixture of gasoline and ethanol would naturally have less total energy than regular gasoline.

    ^^agree with everyone's sentiments.

I tried E10 for two months last year, yung na-menos ko sa savings, bawi din kasi naman mababa yung mileage ko. so effectively, i'd load fuel more often than i usually would. feeling ko talaga tuloy hassle kasi sanay na ako sa regular routine ko of fueling up when i use unleaded.

I have tried the E10 of shell, caltex and petron before. I got the worst FC sa shell E10. Petron E10 got me the best FC comparing the 3 E10 blends. But the FC that I got from Petron E10 is still a bit lower than using unleaded.

Sa cost per Km. Lugi sa E10 pero kung mas malaki ang price difference, baka it might be worth it. But I do not think na mag mumura ng husto ang E10.

Environment wise, lesser evil ang E10.

Go for Auto-LPG.... it's both cheaper and better for the environment.

I am actually considering auto LPG. I consume 1 full tank of gas per week.

back to the topic. For me E10 is good but I prefer unleaded. kasi cheaper ang cost per km than E10. Unless of course maphase out na ang unleaded at Ethanol blended fules na lang ang available.

compatible kaya ang E10 sa Honda City (2007) ko
eventually daw mawawala na ang unleaded gas magiging E10 na. like for example sa Petron... yung extra unleaded map-phased out.. ...yung E10 daw nila would be equivalent to XCS with 10% ethanol

E10 Ethanol, bad for your engine & economy? [MERGED]
