yung Shell sa North Edsa (southbound bago mag MRT GMA Kamuning Station) may apat yata silang pump ng E10.

Ethanol is not cheaper than gasoline. The only reason it is cheaper at the gas pump is the government subsidy on the pump price. But in the end, the government will get back it's money through taxes.

LPG nalang!
last nagpagas ako sa shell sa pasong tamo 42.xx na... that was two weeks ago
what? P30-P40 na ang gasoline sa atin? when i was there 2 years ago it was less than that. what is happening? i thought we have our own ofshore and onshore drilling platforms. ang hirap sa atin kung saan napupunta mga pera sa ivestments ng mga ganito. we should try and not be dependent too much on foreign players. stick to our own!!!

actually yeah, ethanol from plant products won't replace oil, it's too expensive and displaces food crops.
the solution for the future is algae converted into biodiesel. algae is the most efficient at converting solar energy into oil.
but.. (from the E10 thread) i don't care about that. bottom line is, right now, E10 is 36.xx per liter. so yeah it doesn't "save the environment," but it would save you 300 bucks on your next full tank.
been pumping gas with Ethanol for 5-years, same price, same fuel consumption. Kelan kaya ako makaka-save ng 300bucks?Originally Posted by orly_andico
its just a matter of time until they raise the price of ethanol. Last year, nung nalaman ng energy company sa US na dumadami ang nagkakarga ng Natural Gas sa bahay nila. guess what? The NG price went up 50% and so did the electricity, it went up 50%.
haluan mo ng tubeg ang gas, bukas-makalawa tataas na din ang price ng tubeg :evillaugh haluan mo ng harina gas, bukas-makalawa tataas ang price ng harina
langyang buhay 'to, walang kawala! nhahahaha

as an OT aside, i was talking to the taxi driver kanina. figures:
1) boundary on his AE111 is 1250 petot
2) gasoline cost is 1800 petot, he drives 350km per day
it occurred to me that if i was a taxi operator, i could convert my fleet to LPG using the 30k conversion kit. if i add even 200 petot to the boundary, i would recover the cost of the LPG conversion kit in less than a year (200 petot X 22 days = 4400/month).
the driver wouldn't mind because with the huge price differential of LPG and gasoline, he'd still take home an extra 200 petot or more.
so parang it helps the environment, helps the taxi owner (can justify charging extra boundary, plus after the first year the extra 200 is pure gravy), and helps the driver.
now if only i had tons of cash to set up a taxi franchise... :D
Honda All Honda vehicles should use the fuel recommended in the Owner's Manual. The following models will operate satisfactorily on E10: Insight - 2004 onwards; Civic range (including Civic Hybrid) - 2004 onwards; S2000 - 2004 onwards; CRV - 2003 onwards; MD-X - 2003 onwards; Accord & Accord Euro - 2003 onwards. Honda does not recommend E10 for other vehicle models because there may be drivability issues.
May Naka try na sa SIR? Puede ba mga tol?
well it does say civic 2004+
the SiR has a high compression engine, would probably suffer driveability issues on E10.

average US gasoline price is now $2.989 per gallon. that's PHP 40.497 per liter. so the local price isn't really far off from the US rate.
Lynxman, no offense to you bro pero san ka ba located? parang di mo ramdam ang oil crisis at rapid increase in prices?
Nasa UK yata sya kapatid. On his previous post, nagpunta daw sya sa British International Motorshow. He may not be driving in UK kaya hindi nya ramdam ang oil crisis.
seems like LPG is a better alternative than Ethanol.
Actually the price of petrol in the UK is higher than in the USA because of the taxes.
