Please read the previous page. It will answer all your questions on all gas variants of Shell, Petron and Caltex..... (And strictly adhere to GH's guidance above....)

^^^ Yup, I did that when I realized some months ago that all of Shell's gasoline variants are E10-blended.... We have Caltex Gold as an alternative....

My car is below 2004 so I am really concerned.

I've been using Shell Premium for more than 9 years already if it's true that E10 is bad for my car's engine, Shell just lost one loyal customer because I am switching to Petron and cancelling my Shell Citibank MC.
Shell fuels Supper Premium, Super Unleaded and V Powe are all E10 now. Caltex Silver is also E10 and But to some Petron stations XCS are E10 and some are not but Xtra unleaded is E10. Blaze is not E10. though when the boifuels act will be fully implimented in 2011, all this fuel would be ethanol blended.

initially the big 3 anounced that E10 fuels are good for efi engines. after 3 years, petron said that it was dangerous to cars. though shell and caltex has not yet response to this. well, not all efi engines are ethanol ready specially late models as you said. usually vehicles with no emission control system that doesnt have euro 2,3 and 4 compliant engine.

you could go back to some of this threads to see why ethanol blended fuels harms the engine.

if that is needed they should be just for you if you insist.

Is XCS the equivalent of Velocity??? I don't even know if the gasoline boys in our area are aware if the XCS sold in their station are blended with E10 or not.

Why are the making our lives so difficult I wish they culd just take back that biofuels act!!!

if there is no sticker on top of hte pump that indicates that the fuel is E10 then its not ethanol blended. you can also ask the gas station if the fuel is E10 to be sure.

XCS is super premium of shell and i believe that it is not e10 blended, the equivalent of Velocity or VPower nowadays is the Petron Blaze which is not e10 blended confirmed by Petron.

XCS VS vortex gold VS super premium
Velocity or V power is VS Blaze (no cunterpart with caltex)
Xtra unleaded VS Vortex silver VS Super premium

if there is no stiker on top of the pump indicating E10 then it is not E10.
They can not take it back coz the congressmans that passed the act is already paid.. you know what i mean.

    Silver - Unleaded
    Gold - Premium
Vortex - 96 RON (Prev. equiv. to V-Power and Blaze)

    Wala na ba yung Vortex?

same petron experience here with my honda jazz. i used to get unleaded and then tried the new e10 variant for a while; wasn't happy so i went back to regular unleaded. when the law passed to have ALL unleaded with e10, after a few tanks, i noticed that my car became sluggish with similar performance to the old e10. just this morning, filled up with xcs and drove to the airport. almost immediately, ramdam agad yung difference ng hindi e10. of course, the 95 rating though would some effect as well (obvious difference between non-e10 xtra unleaded and xcs before), but the point is obvious. bottomline for me: e10 sucks.

    baka psychological lang? hehehe

anyways, balang araw di na naten matatakbuhan ang e10! by 2011, all pumps will sell gas with e10.

    Any thoughts guys?

If ethanol gas can damage our cars, then what fuel are we supposed to use when all fuel are ethanol blend already?

    Since you're asking...

Auto-LPG. Advantage, it is cheaper than gasoline and better for the environment.

E10 Ethanol, bad for your engine & economy? [MERGED]
