Mine is vvti manual. I get around 8-9 kpl using caltex e10 (P32.50 in ortigas really cheap).

But this week I decided to use petron xcs and I really feel the difference. It's easier to move in traffic and I can get 60 km/hr easy without reving to 2k rpm. I think I can get 10 kpl with xcs judging on my few days of testing.

I realized that our 2.0 is a little bit under powered hence using high octane fuel can help the engine cope with accelaration and improve fuel consumption, in my opinion.

It's a G variant, Gas, A/T. Is it because it still very new and hasn't been broken in, and it should improve as it gets more running time or is that unusual? I didn't notice it at all with my other A/T vehicles. I could observe it some more over the next few days/weeks, but if it's a reason for worry, I'd appreciate your comments. Thanks!
Your G variant, Gas, A/T innova is exactly the same as mine and it is now 6 months old. I also have experienced that jerky feeling on my vehicle and was a little bit of concern. But after some time, maybe around the second month wala na yung delayed response which would result to some jerky moves on our ride. just be patient and everything will be fine over time.

help me decide between innova J or E

    difference i see are these

meron rear window wiper ung E, ung J wala

ung E meron door ajar at sealt belt warning, ung J wala

meron key left, lights off reminder ung E, ung J wala

merong power locks ung E, ung J wala

ung E may airbag sa driver, ung J wala

meerong ABS ung E, ung J wala

    approx 100K difference

    is this worth it?

    power locks
    alarm
    good rims ang tires
    rear wiper(kung kailangan talaga)
    leather seatcover
    tire lock

power locks and alarm - 4.5-5.5k sa banawe sa casa 7k ata
good rims ang tires - trade in mo yung sa J plus 12k+14k
    leather seatcover - 3.5k to 7k
rear wiper - really don't need it.

Difference for an E to J is 100K ++ and you get what you enumerated above.
The 100K difference when added to your amortization would actually cost you roughly 220k++. If it is not an issue to you might as well get the E, mga ammenities ng E you can install later, but not the airbag and the abs.

Thank you for that comment attyallan! That gives some assurance. Even if we all have had other new cars before, every time a new one arrives home it seems like we have a new baby--pinapansin at pinapakiramdaman lahat ng bagay.

You also have to consider that Innova has electronic gas pedal, and probably some of your other A/T cars are cable type.

Thank you, Mile2. I realize technology has some trade-offs. Also, did I read correctly in one of the earlier threads that our Innovas are rear wheel drive?

    Yes, that is correct.

Innova has rear differential gears driven by propeller shaft from transmission.

Cheapest solution/deterrent to spare tire thieves...put your spare tire upright behind the 3rd row seats, tied it and put floor stopper so that it will not move. Your spare tire is always clean.

Works for me even if we use our Innova with 7-8 adults daily.

Sir depende sayo,. ako kasi i chose J coz most of the features that E have that J doesn't e more on a "decor" lang. hehe! Madami nang mararating yung 100K, your own choice of mags, AV setup, alarms, power lock, power windows, etc..
My suggestion is to filter all the necessary feat of E you like then compute for the cost. If its cheaper then go for J but if not then go for E. Gudluck!

For me, three letters make it worth the difference to get the E on top of all the added accessories: ABS

I agree. Additional point, the rear wiper is a good accessory (if you call it that). I would also love to have the rear window defoggers but they are only available on the G and V variants. The automatic window operation is another plus point for the E.

Does anyone know where to get/buy touch-up paints. My innova's body color is mica green and I have this small nick that exposed the metal. Any DIY suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

Reason why it has a higher ground clearance than the carens and grand livina on which it is being compared to. Both Carens and the GL are front wheel driven.

IMO, that's not exactly the reason for the higher ground clearance...it is because Innova has the independent rigid ladder frame chassis as compared to Carens and GL that has chassis built-in within the body.

Same construction with pickup trucks and our local jeepneys.

Old school cars (Isuzu Gemini, Ford Cortina, Camaro, etc.) has rear wheel differential gears like Innova and yet they are lowered simply because of the built-in chassis body.

I stand corrected. Just realized that the Carens and GL have sedan-like chassis frame construction.
