Advice please.![]()
You must inform the SA that you want the excess motor oil be given to you. Specially if they bring your vehicle inside their lube for the PMS. In my case in TMB (Toyota Motors Batangas), PMS are mostly done in their 'quick lube' which is outside their main facility. So I can see for myself what they are doing. And I just ask the mechanic to give me the remaining motor oil and the old spark plugs. I usually give the old spark plugs to my brother-in-law who have an old car.
Then you could apply grease sa terminals after cleaning.
Hi a_s, since our stock battery is a maintenance type, you have to once in a while, say every week at the most, check your battery terminals wherein your battery ages in time thus sulfur deposits appear. To properly remove and clean it, you will need the following materials:
1) baking soda
2) h20
3) cleaning brush (an old toothbrush or paint brush will do)
4) rags and
5) a small dipper.
Procedure: Mix a small amount of baking soda with water to produce a pasty solution in a small dipper. Dip the brush into it and brush the affected parts of the battery. You will notice, the deposits to react with the solution. Let it stand for a couple of minutes thence clean/wipe it with rags. Voila! the deposits are gone. Hope this helps.
And to add, to prevent acid splashes ruining your paintwork, apply synthetic (polymer) sealant onto painted underhood areas where battery acid splashes will likely stick.

Thanks. The battery caps are not sealed so hindi maintenance free.
Another question. I have not seen in the Innova manual any topic or discussion regarding washing the engine. Does this mean, it is discouraged or prohibited? Unlike the manner of cleaning the exterior and interior part of the car. What can you say on this?
It's a matter of owner's prerogative if he want his car engine washed or not. For me, I never washed my car's engine with high water pressured equipment. If you really wish your engine bay washed, avoid concentrating on ignition system and exposed electrical components. Better cover them to avoid each getting wet. Since I acquired my unit naspu naspu lang sa engine bay and using compresssed air under running vaccum cleaner to remove stubborn dust. I googled one article for you to quench your curiosity: http://www.dccarcare.com/tipowk/tipowk13.html

I'll be having my 1st pms on the 2nd week of January and im planning to shift from mineral oil to fully synthetic 15W-40.
Thanks in advance!!
I just had my 1000 pms last Friday sa casa. I only had mineral oil since it cost me only PHP 1,400, way less than the P 5,200 for full synthetic. I've also read in the previous thread that since there are some adjustments sa lubrication and the like, mineral oil is better than full synthetic as for now.
In my experience, parang hindi pwedeng manuod during the change oil process.
By the way, also ask for the remaining oil dahil only 5.5 liters lang and ilagay so ask for what is left for future use. otherwise, if you will not ask hindi nila ibigay.
As to the oil filter, they will also change that. The P 1,400 actually includes already the filter. Have a nice day...Happy new year...
