Paano po ba malalaman yung date kung kailan na-manufacture yung mga Innova natin? Ito po ba yung "Prod. Year" sa Vehicle Sales Invoice?

thanks for the info bro. correct me if i'm wrong yung axle shaft ba ay yung mahabang tubo na umiikot sa ilalim ng innova para ma-drive yung differential? i know kung hindi ito balanced, nagkakaroon ng vibration. wala namang unusual sound o vibration sa takbo ng innova ko, pero ang worry ko lang e kapag defective ito, baka bigla na lang itong mag-break o kumalas hopefully not during high speed cruising!

maybe you're refering to the propeller shaft. yun tinututukan nun sa likod at nakabukol pag sinilip mo yun ang axle or commonly called differentials.

I suggest you give your dealer a call. I just called mine and asked since I bought my innova last Jan 2006 and it was manufactured in Nov 2005. They said it was not included in the list based on the frame number. The reason for the recall is because of a substandard part (axle shaft) that may easily break. So as a precaution they will replace it for free.

Ang axle shaft a solid or tubular shaft that connect the final drive to the wheel that turns to move the vehicle. Pero connected ito sa propeller drive shaft galing yan sa transmission or gearbox. Yng sinasabi mo na vibration baka nangagaling yan sa propeller drive shaft check mo ang mga universal joint ng drive shaft. Wala dapat yan vibration.....

From what I know, axle shaft is the cylindrical bar that is inside our rear differential. It is actually two - the left and the right and connected to the differential gear box at the center ( a huge ball like at the center). The outer ends are connected to the tires.

If they issue a recal then it is for the end users sake, so we just have to include them in the regular PMS to save time and trips.

Salamat ho uli at sana'y wag ninyo akong itiwalag.

    Yes, it is transferable.

The prevous owner should give you the WARRANTY BOOKLET.

It is stated in page 3.

    FULLY Transferable.
Warranty coverage is fully transferable to subsequent vehicle owners. Only the the unexpired portion of the warranty period will be taken over by the new owner.

You should also ask the former owner the certificates for:

    1. Fujitsu Stereo
    2. Battery warranty certificate
    3. Car Air Conditioner warranty card.

Lastly the Owner's Manual so that you can read and understand your new ride.

    Good Luck,

you can call any dealer and ask them. They will check and confirm using the vehicle's chassis #.

Just pull it upwards - there's around 4 thick rubber grommet-type fasteners that hold it in place. I remove it regularly to clean my engine.

I also called Toyota Pasong Tamo - my Innova J D4D is also on recall for axle shaft replacement - got it last May 2005.

Advise ko lang sa inyo Innova peeps, when you have your axle shaft replaced, talk to the warranty officer of your dealer and also check if your Innova (also based on the chassis #) is also due for replacement of it's fuel tank metal strap. Some Innova's manufactured during the first half of 2005 have fuel tank straps that rub against the fuel tank under normal driving conditions. The prolonged abrasion will cause your fuel tank to leak - dangerous. The warranty officer of Toyota Pasong Tamo (Mr. Arnel Resplandor) told me they already replaced many fuel tank straps but mine was not in the list, but he'll check it anyway when I have my axle shaft replaced.

So how big a lemon is our Innova :

    Defective supply pump (some)
    Defective axle shaft (most)
    Defective fuel tank strap (some)
    Defective stereo (most)
Center pillar molding that snaps off (some)
    . . . . what could be next ?
